The crucial question, it seems to me, is this: At the same time that both TKO and Max Traxs were 'unable' to communicate with existing customers, and/or completion dates were slipping massively, did they cash any payments from new customers?

If they did, that is the part of things I'd have a problem with.

Incidentally, I am self-employed, so I know a little of what is involved and what is the right way to act.

Exclamation

This seems like a real good time for this thread to return to the subject of Max Trax Racing Tracks (please refer to initial post, if confused).

It also seems like a real good time for any further differences of opinion about this, that, and the other thing, between Smalltime & Nico Rosberg to take place via PM or some other forum more tolerant of ongoing arguments between members that distract from the purpose of the original thread. Thank you.

For what it's worth, Dave Chandler from MaxTrax is a "stand up guy" and his tragedy is genuine and heart breaking. Those of you with orders placed will definitely get your tracks. Dave just needs your support and patience to help him through these times. MaxTrax is a great product and it would be a shame to see it fade away. Please everybody, do what you can.

Sincerely
Kihm/GT40

For those still waiting to get their tracks, and for any foolish/brave/loyal enough to place an order now reading this:

Quote:
If you wish to help with donations of any amount, it would be so much appreciated and might help to get me through this tough time and allow MaxTrax to continue
on the MT website they will find it hard to share your confidence, I would venture.

It must be unprecedented for the potential customers of a product to bail it out? I assume friends, family and racing buddies (some of whom already have a track) have done their bit, which is fair enough.

Oh, and for the usual suspects sending me hate mail over my opinions, class act fellas. I won't be replying.

Nobody gets into a fringe hobby as a business & expects to get rich. If a guy has hit upon a serious of unfortunate events that has put him up against it he doesn't need armchair consumer advocates going out of their way to badmouth him.

Hopefully he can get things sorted out & get all of his customers taken care of. In these tough economic times there are many of us that are only one or two bad turns away from being in his shoes.

I don't think that is what we are doing or being.

I will admit I am much less interested in what a supplier needs or doesn't need compared to what the consumer needs and expects.

Perhaps if a couple of suppliers go to the wall because of bad communication skills and keeping people waiting an unreasonable amount of time, the silver lining would be the rest would be more on their toes.
