- do not change the box size (i would be OK going with a slightly smaller box, but not a larger box)
- bodies must begin life as 1/32 scale (or approximately; i think many military vehicles are 1/35 and i would be OK with allowing those. but HO and 1/43 should be disallowed)
- open wheels and protruding tires are ok
- bodies may be hacked up/breeded/sliced/diced/ginsu knifed until they fit in the box
- if it meets the above criteria and fits in the box, it is legal
now, what about a spec tire? not sure if this is possible given the wide variety of vehicles and wheel sizes, but i think it would lead to closer competition... if we go down this road, i'd say that urethane would be the way to go. between paul gage, yellow dogs and ranch design, there is a urethane tire to cover pretty much every possible wheel option.

Tom is definitely in for next year. This proxy would not exist without him.
All,
Tom & I are discussing your suggestions... Stand by & keep the suggestions coming.
Boopie,
It is coincidental that I said almost the exact thing to Tom about scale including the 1:35 military bit. I don't think my Rose Bowl Float class suggestion is going to make the cut though.
Steve at RAnch Design just made me a set of wheels to fit Scaley Cortina tires, which Luf makes. They are alum 3/32 bore and will work well. If you sent him your specs,
I'm sure he will make custom ones.
What's with all the "proposed" rules???? This series was founded on simplicity....almost no rules except for the size restriction on the track and the car! Seems to me that it's working as, we've grown from year 1 to this year.....
I say keep the "rules" as they are and, if you really think we need more clarification, I would suggest the following rules package:
Track
1. Single-lane, routed track, not to exceed 9 sq/ft footprint.
Car
1. Car must appear to be 1/32 scale (yes I know, vague, but we all - or most of us - have a little bit of common sense).
2. Car must fit in X.xx" x X.xx" box.
No other rules should be necessary (especially w/ the "Dictator for Life", on standby, ready to pass judgement as needed!).
At the end of the day, this series was created out of complete sillyness and FUN! It allowed one the opportunity to route a track (perhaps learning for the first time) and, enter a lighthearted proxy race (thereby experiencing "proxy" racing in a fun environment).
I vote for NO "big government"! Keep it simple and fun!!!
WE DON'T NEED NO MORE STINK'IN RULES! THE CHAMP HAS SPOKEN!
Now can we start to enjoy the SLOP II race we are do'in before any more talk about next season......?
AGREE!!!
