I would be absolutely amazed if the model comes with working headlights....

I believe Maurizio is saying that they're very pleased with the appearance of the non-working lights - a combination of a specially reflective finish on the back of the light housing combined with the shaping of the headlight lenses to give a high intensity LED effect...

Including the correct sizing of the front wheels, makes this a very effective Scale Racer....

Looking forward to seeing this one!

Cheers, Tony.

This and maybe one from Scaley, if they do it, will be my only R18s. No need to explain why I want this one. The Scaley would be for racing in the local LMP class around here which is strictly for Scaley cars which are pretty awesome for what they are.

Can't wait to see the headlight treatment. That was bound to be an interesting challenge...

A lot of companies would have just molded some clear plastic and said "it looks weird, but it's done". Thanks for going the extra mile to make it look right!

We should receive the Rebellion Lola final sample in 10 days. It's a very difficult car to make. We're trying to gold chrome the complete car with white spray/tampo painting on top. Not easy.

That does sound difficult. Once the gold chrome is on, is there a way to use the tampo process to apply an etching material first, prior to applying the paint?

Is there another way to do it where a tampo is applied everywhere that you don't want the gold chrome (something that resists the electrostatic plating), then chrome the car, then wash off the tampoed material, then apply the appropriate tampo printing?

Maurizio,

Have you tried doing a corona treatment? We do tampo printing onto ski goggle lenses for Smith and we use this process to get a better adhesion.

Corona treatment? good suggestion. We'll see what the sample looks like in a few days, then we'll see ...

Thanks
Maurizio

So far, NSR, Slot. It, LMM, Carrera, and Ninco have either shown prototypes or already produced an R18, and Slot.It is a lock on the best combination of looks and speed. Still setting the standard in 1:32.

The Rebellion Racing Lola is the Lola I've been waiting for. The 1:1 car was pretty stunning.
