Hey Jerry, quick question. Did the top mounted solder tabs on new motor require relief of the cockpit floor for clearence?
I just got my first 'Vette and it will get an NC-1 just like my Cobra's.

afternoon ,

quick answer is no . but , i did relieve the bottom of the cockpit because i took `bout an 1/8th inch off the body posts . now it sits level and really looks the buisness . even took the ole driver out and relieved some of his glutes . now he dosen`t look like a refuge from a basketball camp . be advised that makin` the posts shorter made it necessary to trim ever so much from the chassis front , and rear so it would go up into the body loosley .

Thanks for the good info!!! Would love to see pics when its finished. I was just tinkering with mine and had the body sittin' atop a set of BRM wheels and it looks soooo good low....which got me thinking about dropping it on a HRS chassis but then it would run circles around the rest of my stable of classics....so then I would need a couple dozen more HRS chassis' and lots of BRM rims and..................... Think I'll just drop in a NC-1 and run it !!!

no kiddin` , the more you fool with it the more gets changed . been there . i had several , in fact the only classic i haven`t had is the testarossa . this is my second vette . also now it is my only classic . my race buddy has a 356 so we have a like motored pair . his sits on brm`s (on ninco axles) and mine has BWA`s (on slot.it axles) with minilites . great pair and lots of fun , especially since they are visible (not just "bluurrs") as they motor `round the course . i don`t have the knowledge/computer skill to post photos .

jer

could you expound , about your handle . do you make decals ?/grafix . . . . .

Jer,
Sorry about that non-returned pm. I do not make decals. When I choose that handle it was because I was doing custom painting on helmets, bikes, ect...for a living. I do have a plotter and am capable of designing decals/logos but do not have a printer that does white. Without white you are very limited as to the quality and ease of use for a lot of decals....but I am thinking about investing in one. If I do you will know.
Until later,
Chris

not that a guy could retire on income from 1/32nd decals , there is a need . maybe you could (retire !) if you brought forth that great of a product .

Default tanneau

evenin` mike ,

its actually very simple . you use a paper towel with out a pattern . get very simple texture or smooth . cut out a piece that fits where you want to put it . anchor it at all four corners with ca/superglue . then , when it sets up laminate the paper . i have done two layer and single layer . use your ca and completely cover the paper towel . after it dries hit it again . now paint it the flat color you want and it looks pretty much like leather . you can add little silver dots to reprisent snaps or not . i`ve done `bout six now and they really look the buisness . also , p.m. greenman62 and ask him if he`ll send you his "tutorial" . he sends a drawing even .

jer , goodluck , sir !
