Perhaps the title of the series should include FIA Group 5 & IMSA GTO in the title. Both series ran silhouette cars in very much the same spirit. THere was some crossover including the Greenwood Corvette. The Conseptcarz webisite shows Dekon Monzas running against a gaggle of Porsches including a Momo Porsche. I doubt that any questions would be asked about the Porsches even though they are running in an IMSA competition. http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z...kon-Monza.aspx

I knew someone would question the Dekon Monza! But Big Jack did his homework!
It is a proper entry...Although it was originally raced as an IMSA GTO and SCCA TransAm class car, the car was also classified as an IMSA "All American GT" (AAGT) class car. That class was for the more exotic (read as: some challenged it as bending the rules a bit too far) cars in the GTO class, including Charlie Kemp's Mustang II. A slightly later set of rules (1977?) resulted in the IMSA GTX class which followed the FIA Group 5 rules. Both these cars, and others, were grouped in this category.
The same holds true of the 1979-1983 "Japanese Formula Silhouette" series This is where the Nissan 910 Bluebird and Skyline DR30 made their appearance.

Thank You Sir,
I would think next year, (again not trying to get too far ahead of myself ) that if a particular car is asked to be included that the person initiating the request provide information (much like they do in the CanAm series) so I/we can make a reasonably informed decision on allowing said car to participate in all this fun and games.
Very car Mike......what's the "particulars" on that beer wagon on steroids.
Jack
That is one of the most awesome looking race cars that I have ever laid eyes on. I found this on the http://www.oocities.org/monzaman_gt/rdrce.html website.
"#1011- Chris Cord's '77-81 IMSA car. Red w/ Budweiser sponsorship. DeKon Phase 5 body and wing. Had the most radical bodywork seen on a monza in 1980-81. Last of the "TRUE" AAGT cars. Purchased by Ken Epsen and currently campaigned in vintage racing on the west coast. Restoration on this monza is absolutely beautifuul!!!!!"
I'd be more than happy to host a round in the Puget Sound area and can help with transportation to other venues in Pacific Northwest.
Thank you Sir, I'll bear that in mind.. In the near future I'll be setting a schedule, and will get in touch with all who have shown an interest in hosting to check when and where best suits everyone. You are more then welcome to join in our little party if you are so inclined.
If any of you guys are on Facebook, check out the Le Fantastiche vetture Del Gruppo 5 1976-1982 page here. They post tons of great photos of vintage Group 5 machinery. Here are some of the more odball examples:
Stratos:
Trabant:
Holden Torana:
Lotus Europa Zakspeed:
Of course there are Porsche 935s and BMWs aplenty there as well.
It started as the SCX version, I did the rest, including full interior etc. In the Aussie series it has two poles from two starts, but has also had 2 dnf's.....
