I feel like this is BREAKING NEWS, so here you go.....A buddy of mine just got some of the new straights from AFX's new molds and he reports that they are truly STRAIGHT with no warps or bends. Shipped from Nevada, so it seems they are ......wait for it.........BACK ON TRACK!!!!

Sure is... and I see they are in Reno now.
My straights are terrible- almost worse than the curves.
Wishing AFX well for 2013!

Wow- did you see that pic of them side by side? I need a tissue.
I would almost be tempted to swap all mine out.

I think that's excellent news. I hope they're redoing everything.

It'd be great if those 9 inch quarters were actually true. I have a stack of them that are no good for anything beyond boomerang practice. And I'd love to get some new 18 inch curves. I bought some when they first came out (I don't think it was Racemasters that was producing them then) and they're not quite true....the joints at the slot are terrible, and four of them don't quite get you 180 degrees.

Now, if only there was a way to tell whether or not you're getting new ones when you order from a supplier.

Hey marc! I wanted to see how the pics of my 15 inchers came out,so I decided to register. What a difference from the older track. The cars seem faster and alot smoother on the new stuff. The rail hight seems to be alot more consistent as well. Its nice being the first kid on the block with the new toy. Thanks Racemasters!!!

Are there no indications to tell the new improved track from the track of old?

Thanks,

As far as I can tell, theres no physical or visual difference between the new and old track. The only difference is that its straight as an arrow and the rail height is consistent. Even the markings on the back are the same. The difference REALLY shows when you drop your car on it and hit the throttle!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Much smooooother.which means much faaaaasssster!!!
