Has any one heard anything about when the cars will be in stores or has there been a delay in the release. Not many days left in september and no one has posted about this subject in over a month. .

Default Still no word, but hopefully after the weekeend.

I know BRM were very busy the last few weeks with Slotlandia so I have not been sending them emails.
But now Slotlandia is over I hope to hear about the first 917 shipment.

More soon (I hope )

Default 917 Gulf not sold out yet.

We have seen strong orders on this car both in our Retail Store and from Dealers but right now we still have stock available.

I am bringing in enough to hopefully have these on offer at least through the Holidays this year.

We carry deep stock of BRM for example we still have every BRM car produced in stock except the Black Toyota Group C car and the Limited Edition Renault Meganes that only 40 were released Worldwide.

While this is seeing strong orders, and I expect the same with the Red 917 when we announce that for pre-order next week, I would expect them to be available from our Store and from Scaleracing Dealers for a while.

That said if there is a run on them once people see them, and try them out who knows.

They are a very capable car here on the www.132Slotcar.us Track turning times comparable to a well setup Scaleauto car so you never know.

More early next week

Default Just spoke with BRM.

I just heard back from BRM, and there has been a delay in China with shipping out the bodies.

Some of you may not be aware that BRM does product the bodies in China but the rest of the car is assembled in Italy.

There has been a hold up getting the bodies shipped from the factory in China which has meant the cars could not be finished yet.

BRM are visiting the factory in China to make sure the shipment gets processed and shipped on to Italy.

I do not have an exact date for the delivery to me now, but expect to see them either late October or early November.

Just to cheer myself up I did a little more testing with the pre-production car I have. With only a change of tires to Scaleauto sponge for our Track I am down to consistent 5.0 second laps with the fast laps in the 4.92 range. They will be worth the wait!!!

Default Not the New BRM or I wanted either.

BRM have paid for the cars, so need to bring them to market as soon as possible. They do not want a delay either. But things happen, it has been especially difficult with production in China the last few years.
One of the partners is there right now, making sure the bodies are ready and shipped out. Then its back to Italy to assemble and shipping out the cars to their Distributors.
No one wants the delay, but once I heard more I thought I should share with you all here.

Hopefully they can get the cars turned around quickly once the bodies arrive. They told me they are busy building the chassis ready for the arrival of the bodies.

More ( hopefully good ) news soon.

!
Hey Mr. Alan,

Would it be safe to assume, that all the major injection molded parts, including the chassis, are made in China too ?

I know the Trainguys, have played heck getting things out of their Chinese factories, as of late.

Labor costs raising too ...

Just ask Jules how long it took him to get the legends cars . Very sad to hear BRM has anything to do with china . With a premium price they ask for from there cars(i love my BRMs) just not happy with the china aspect of it all .Even scaleys quality has taken a hit with the cars in china. What can we expect from forced labor. I hope the quality of the bodys are up to BRMs standerds but that may also be the delay. Some of us would pay more for cars not made with any labor from china. SORRY FOR THE RANT.

Default Chassis made in Italy as far as I know.

Not sure on the 917, but I will ask, regarding pricing and quality etc, all BRM bodies have been made in China. The price point, in part, is due to the low sales volume experienced by BRM and other 1/24 scale Manufacturers.
They assemble in Italy to keep the cost down, if BRM's were completely assembled in China there would be more labor added.
