Talking Slip on Rims?

I have been asking myself and also have been wondering. What or whom make the best rim for running Slip on Tires? I am asking this because I have been doing some thinking of trying them I the upper magnet car classes. So in saying so.What or who's rims would you recommend and why? All feedback will be appreciated... thanks

xfactor-- i have tried a lot of rim and slip-on combinations over the years, mainly on boxstock cars but also on magnet car class cars with poly , ceramic and neo magnets.

There are a number of rims and tire combinations that are out there that can handle most classes.

I have tried These Rims: Quicker wide, Slottech narrow, BSRT wide and narrow, Wizzard wide and ultra narrows,JW wide and narrow, Aj's.

I have tried these tires: Supertires, Slottech, Wizzard,Aj's,Ballsout racing, Jw's.

The best are the tire and rim combo that gives you the right size, firmness and traction for the car and track you will be running on. There are endless combinations that can be tried. Rim size alone will allow various od's to be found, but the Id matters. My suggestion would be to start with the car you are using. Do you need Narrow rims to fit the car? If so your life just got easier. You have the Slottech with 4 rim sizes and the Bsrt with 4 or 5. Also Quicker is coming out with narrows this week. The wiz Ultra narrow need tires to be cut for most sizes so if you are up for it try em. I woud reccomend starting with the Slottech's or the BSRT because the tire and sizing are systemized and both are high Quality. Check em out on their respective websites and try the sizes that fit the car and class.

Talking Slip ons and Rims

Neo and others. I am curious as to what Slip ons work best with certain rims? Does it depend on the car or class that your running? What recommendation of combinations can be offered?

X, I was and still am using JW's .250 rims on my G'2 and T's ...with super tires. I'm never had a problem and the tires sizes have been perfect for me and what i have needed to do....

But now that the company has changed hands I will have to look at someone else's rims in the future...

Talking Slip On

Neo, I am thinking of two cars in two classes.

G3R in Compression Super Stock form and also in Polymod form

T3 in the same aspect.

We are testing running these cars in the Super Stock form to see if there are much of a difference. So far we have ran the Storm car as a quick test, the next event that we have we will run them as a IROC Round Robin event to see how they stack up lap wise.

I want to try the slip on concept to see if there is any advantages or disadvantages to running the silicone sponge tires that we currently use. I kinow that there is plenty of experienced slip on guys that brouse this board that can possibly help me out with a starting point of reference. I think you guys are using Slip Ons in your area, correct? Have you guys try them with the gravity cars? Hope this helps, if not I think I can lower the question to maybe one car.... Thanks

X-- I would use narrow white tires supertires and .250 narrow rims on the G3R. Thats about .426 size combo. On the T3 Iwould use narrow .250 rims and narrow rubber that is about .456.

X factor

You may want to try the new Injected Molded HPS ( High Performance Silicone) tires made just for the G3R by BSRT. They now have 4 rim sizes .275 part # 322, .280 part #324, .285 part # 326 and .290 part # 328. Three softer tires, Part # 335, #338 and #350. Tires Part # 345 and #348 are harder compounds for the polymer tires. These tires and rims will give you a diameter range between .424-.454 I think in most cases with so many high quality slip on ties available, it may be all about trial and error.
