Jon please send me an email when you have the jig available.

Having thought about it several times I think I have very limited use for the lathe but this jig will come in very handy for setting up a Cougar with a Scalextric chassis that I am working on. It will help me set up the SCC axle blocks completely square with the guide and rear axle.

Jon,

I'd like to get on the list for a jig. The pictures show how the design has evolved as you added additional holes and clamps for various builds. Would it be possible for you to post a picture that shows just the jig and accessories that come with it?

One feature I'd be interested to see in a jig: a means of aligning the motor end shafts with the rear axle. This would ensure that the spur and pinion are perfectly square when moving motors forwards and backwards, as often happens when raising the rear axle and changing gear sets in the Monogram classic stockers.

Is there a way of doing this?

Earthbound I am getting some this weekend I will get a shot of all the goodies
I upgraded my set up rods to DME ejector pins 3\32 and 1\8 they are nice
you still get 4 clamps and axle leveling screws

Burgler I think with the keel in the slot and the center line you should be able to get it in perfect
center and square motor to axle, I tapped the clamp threads 10-32 and if you got some 1\4 shoulder bolts you could use them as a parallel edge

shoulder bolts are pression ground bolts used in the die industry and other spots but they are expensive so I do not add them to the kit I would get them 2 inches long
those metal paper clamps work well for clamping

thanks guys
Jon

Thanks Jon,

I have not seen shoulder bolts but my friend Adam probably knows what they are. He has a lathe and makes a few things like yourself.

I look forward to receiving my new jig!

Cheers
David
