funny the way things go my f40 was the worst slot it car i got, i had to remove part of the engine detail in the back, the posts were to short, so short in fact that it came with special screws that were not threaded for the last 1/4 inch so the body flopped around like an old shoe with the soul blown out then it stripped the spur gear in very short order, and never really handled that well to begin with. so there she sits on my computer desk with no rear tires or motor, i put them in a more deserving car.

My own thought, exactly!

(If you need an interior, let me know, I have a spare one I could mail you.)

You sure that's not the Fly F40? Like Fl-Slotter said, I'll take it off your hands for $10, no I'll even go $15.

As long as you understand I have first rite of refusal.

I might even go up to $16!

Default Meanwhile, Wet Coast puts on his Moderator hat ...

... probably would be good, if Chainsaw wishes to sell this car, if he were to either post an advertisement in our Buy/Sell/Trade forum, or maybe contact F1 Slotter directly via PM or something.

Just so that things remain righteous according to Rule 21.

Meanwhile, I'm just happy to mention that when I saw the pending news about Carrera obtaining the Ferrari slot car license some time back, I scooped up the Pilot & Brummel cars to go along with my ToTip version. Come to think about it, I may have another white kit around here somewhere ...

well before i get anyone's hopes up no she is not for sale i guess i was just disappointed as this was one of the most anticipated slots i ever bought love f40s and realize sometimes it just has to be sorted out as i did with my unsia jecs nissan wich strained my newbie abilities which is now fast smooth and handles like a dream,im not sure why the spur stripped out out but any probs like that get exasperated here in hi as you have to order everthing and get it shipped so was dissapointed to only get a short time on the track with the car.the interior is ok you dont notice the parts i took out it had to be hot glued in as the driver was to to tall or somthing and was stoping the pod from moveing thanks for the offer though i might go for a teflon though [ snicker ] anyways she is the red test car and looks great and one day will go even better.

OK, now that makes sense - the first production run of this car was afflicted with this problem due to an error in manufacturing; so there is actually an F40 Cockpit Fix pdf on the Slot.it site, here.

I find it ironic that Maurizio writes, there: "Luckily it can be easily fixed without a chainsaw" ...

I have every F40 that slot it has introduced and all I can say is wow!
I currently own somewhere close to 200 slot cars, mostly top of the line from Slot it, NSR, Ninco and Fly. My Slot it F40's are consistently the fastest at any track that I have run them on, and I have never had a problem of any kind with any of them.

You shouldn't be too surprised. These aren't issues that came with it out of the box. This was my first fast car, so it was very much an experiment. Many different(and horrible) tuning setups were tried on it. Easily tens of thousands of laps. Not even the best built cars from any company can withstand constant hard running. It's like expecting an engine in a 1:1 to never die. You can do all the maintenance you want, but once those miles start adding up, it's going to break.

On a side note I have finally gotten to get back to work on this machine, have bodywork nearing completion, and a parts list building as I discover new(or kinda new) parts that could help make this car better then ever. Probably the first Ferrari in history thats destined to be plum crazy purple. Will probably treat myself to the parts for Christmas so any driving is still a while off.

It's one step closer now. All bodywork is complete, the chassis has been repaired, and I will have test results for you guys tomorrow but as it sits right now the F40 is back in working order, using the running gear of a racer sideways dp for testing. Then it's just paint and parts before it is 100% back in racing form. I hope to have some pictures post-paint, but it is too cold for painting so that may have to wait untill spring.

It drove today, but only managed a lap before one of the tires ripped apart. Oh well, add that to the list of parts, was gunna need new tires anyways. Parts list getting a lil long now.
