Started assembling and testing the PCS chassis for my HP car.

I used what I had in the parts box including a Slot It guide and axle bushings, Ninco 9t pinion gear and Reprotec Fiat Abarth rear axle and 27t crown gear.

The only long shaft end bell motor I had was a 25K green endbell one. This will do for testing while I wait for a lower powered BWA S can.

Runs pretty good but additional weight will be needed for a more secure drive.

Body mounting is next.

Dan,

The way you are churning out these Sprites, you'll have 6 or 7 ready for the race!

That PCS chassis and modification seems to be one of the fastest routes to a running Sprite. Nicely done.

This is the route I went and my chassis is now done with the exception of adding weights and I do need to get one of the allowable motors in it. Presently I have the motor that came with the PCS chassis but I am trying to get a BWA NC-1 from Dart. Just started painting the body. Now just need to determine how I am going to fix it to the chassis and fit my driver. Would like to know where to get some of those beautiful detail parts some of you have used. Maybe a brook;lan screen for instance

Cheers,
Ron

Got my screen and bonnet strap/buckle photo etch pieces from Lagartijkit, a Spanish maker of resin bodies, photo etch items and other modeling details.

Got a headrest fairing going on made of sheet plastic, two part epoxy and finish putty. Will be doing a half hard cockpit cover too.

Trying to get a BWA S-can motor for power but haven't heard back from Dart Hobbies yet.

Dan

Dan - That fairing looks great!

Steve - Munters your man. When you get a body (or two ) consider joining us. If you can, tell us your experience with a 1:1 Sprite in the Sprite Culture section! I'm living vicariously with my Sprite models.

Some build progress.

- added hard half tonneau cover
- installeded tray and positioned half driver figure and head
- finished fabricated headrest fairing

Body mounting posts next and then first primer coat.

Managed to turn down the Airfix kit's plastic wheel/tire into a wheel insert for my Ranch Design rims.

Now my car's going to look more stock.

Well, the wheels anyways.

Default Sprites Abound!

The Sprites have landed. Got my package from Munter today and now have to distrubute the bodies around our club's Spritelings. Thought you might like to see the lot of them. John does a great job. No more searching for Airfix kits from which to use just a few pieces.

More progress.

Got the body mounted to the chassis and fixed in place the headrest fairing. While waiting for my BWA .375 wire wheel inserts, I thought I'd try turning down the Airfix kit's rim/wheel and using the hubcaps.

Gives it a clean look so they may stay.

First primer coat tomorrow.

Great work Dan, love the headrest/fairing you've added. This is something I was considering too but now you've beaten me to it I may reconsider!

Cheers,

Pete
