Default IHSR Season Resumes on 1/12 in Rockville, MD

Interstate Home Slot Racers' (IHSR) season resumes on Saturday, 1/12 at a member's home in Rockville, MD. The venue is a routed mdf track.

We are always looking for new racers, and we have loaner cars for folks who don't have class legal cars in their boxes. Overall, we're a non traction magnet/non silicones racing club. Plastic or resin bodies only, no vac form. We run 4 to 5 classes at each day-long Saturday meet. The rules and schedule can be found here: interstatehomeslotracingclub.yuku.com

Race day begins with host opening his home/track at 8 am for practice/testing/tuning/bench racing. First class runs around 10 am. The core race day ends after four classes with a pizza lunch squeezed in. At host's discretion, a fifth class of his choosing might be run (often an IROC ) for those who've not had enough slot racing. The core program wraps up around 3:30 pm more or less.

This season we're averaging 12+ per event, from MD, VA, PA, WVA, DC.

If you're wondering if you have legal cars, please read the rules on the site carefully, again we have loaners.

In general though, the classes are:

Pre-1963 sports car. As with all classes, NO traction magnets and NO silicones. Rubber or urethane tires permitted. 8 mm max contact patch for tires. 14.7K rpm limit for motors (NO slim cans allowed this season). Can be a podded chassis, but the pod must be screwed tight. Weight can be added as you see fit.

Carrera GT. Remove magnet, wire around the chip if it has one (otherwise likely won't register on the lap counter). OEM or Urethane tires. Add weight, otherwise stock.

SlotIt LMP. Obviously must be SlotIt, and LMP or other car that ran LeMans. Can swap out SlotIt brand gears. Run stock slotit motor, stock chassis, can loosen pod. MUST RUN SCALEAUTO SPONGE TIRES...08,09,10 softness.

1963-1997 Sports car...'open.' ANY motor (advised, it's a tight course so much higher RPM won't serve you well on this layout), any chassis...plastic, 3D, scratch built. Rubber, urethane, or sponge tires (again, NO silicones), weight added to taste.

Please review the rules in total for other issues around dimensions, clearance requirements, etc.
