Default April 2 Can-Am/Six Hours at Ace

Gentlemen - Thank You!
Even though only 4 racers participated in last night's race it was nice to see some real variety. I plan to get some other vintage cars prepared as well. Nice work.

Can-Am / Six Hours:
C-Bill - Slot.it - Alfa Romeo 33/3 50.25 13.413
BHR - Fly - Porsche 917K 48.20 13.464
Yellow Dog - MRRC - Porsche 910 46.55 13.213

4th Steve - Fly - Porsche 917LH

I appreciate you guys campaigning a car that may not have been the fastest one in your pit box, but one that brought variety to this race. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Next week I will run a differant car.

Group C LMP
C-Bill 57.25 11.429
Yellow Dog 56.70 11.515
BHR 52.90 11.844

4th Steve 50.02 12.047
5th Ron 48.95 11.643 ( Slipin and slidin in the cookie crumbs)

Was Yellowdog's car setup with stock or other than stock parts? I never saw one run and don't know how good they are stock. Sounds fun guys!

I only ran my MRRC's with the mags in for a couple of laps. Real stuck down and fast. But I don't run too many mag cars anymore.
I took out the two mags and filled the rear pocket with lead. On the Porsche 910 I installed Parma bushings in back. The rest of my MRRC and like chassied Monograms will get regular bushings from SlotCar Corner. Slot-it axle and 26t offset gear, Super Tires Yellowdogs(1404) and wheels finished off the rear end. Up front I hogged out the front axle retainer to fit a 1/8th" brass tube. With the front axle and wheels mounted into the tube, I dropped it into the hogged out axle carriers and super glued it. I also added some plastic under the tube to give it some added glueing area. The car runs well on both plastic and wood.

FYI: George is planning on racing this Thursday evening. I have my Slot.it Group C Car, Non-Mag NASCARS & a Ferrari 512S Berlinetta Daytona 1970 and a Porsche 917 Spyder 1971 for the Can Am / 6 Hour or as I like to call it THE "out for a Sunday Drive" Class. Later George

Default Delay in posting the 4/13 no mag. race results

We did indeed race no mag. NASCAR's (twice), and GT''s, on Monday, 4/16/09.
Sorry that I have not posted the results yet (been tied up working on the house / moving).
I'll try to post results before next Monday's no mag. racing.

Tom

Default Thursday Night at Ace Hobby

April 16th.
Well, well, well... Bagman Racing and his team swaggered up to the Race Track with a can of whip-butt already opened. "I'm going to win, I'm going to win" they taunted. Did they have a crystal ball? Or did Bagman Racing just physc us all out? Hummm? Well I think it's time for the bag-a-donuts man to try racing something other than that Slot.it Alfa. I'm callin you out, you don't have the donuts to buy one of those Spirit Porsches, or a Fly or MRRC Can-Am/6Hours car and race with the real donut lovers do you? That's right Donut Boy! Enough of this "I'm just a rookie kid", hiding behind that big bad Alfa 33/3. Alright, alright, I'll say it, NICE JOB! Why' I oughta....

Can-Am/6 Hours

Bagman Racing - Slot.it Alfa 33/3 - 50.85 - 12.803 (Oh Boy! I won, I won!)
Black Hole Racing - Fly Porsche 917K - 50.15 - 12.612
C-Bill - Slot.it Ferrari 312P - 48.60 - 12.925 Hummmm?

Steve - Slot.it Ferrari 312P - 46.90 - 12.603 (Aaaaaaaaaaa, They cheated, aaa, I think)

The two 312P's were differant numbers and differant paint schemes so we still did have 4 differant cars on the track. Cool! Thanks guys!

Group C
Steve 53.75 - 11.476
C-Bill 53.10 - 11.534
Black Hole Racing 53.10 - 11.748

4th Ron 52.85 - 11.078 Fast car now if he can control it...
5th Bagman Racing 48.05 - 11.928 ("They knocked me OFF!")

Close Racing and Fun too!

Default Thursday Night at Ace Hobby 4/23

Well Race Fans, last night was the largest field of Can-Am Cars entered so far. The "self declared" King fell off the podium not to metion his throne just missing hitting his head on the roll on the way down. The night started out in a strange blue-green cloud so to speak but thanks to a fan and a can of aerosol the air was soon cleared. Hopefully the source of this disturbing phenomina will be able to repair the offending problem and keep it under control. Still too many Alfa's!

The results:
Ron - Slot.it Ferrari 312P (sponsored by Yellow Dog Racing) 55.70 - 12.287
Yellow Dog - Spirit Porsche 936 54.90 - 12.569
C-Bill - Slot.it Alfa 33/3 54.55 12.399

4th Bagman Racing Slot.it Alfa 33/3 54.30 - 12.601
5th Mark Slot.it Alfa 33/3 54.25 12.707
6th Roger Slot.it Alfa 33/3 53.25 12.524
7th BHR Fly Ferrari 512s Coda Lunga 52.85 12.527
8th Steve Monogram Chapparal 2C 50.50 13.322
9th Hot Rod Fly Porsche (sponsored by Steve) 46.90 13.344

Jeff, I believe that I was racing a Monogram Chapparal 2C, not an Slot.it Alfa 33/3.

Default Saturday April 25 Results

The good weather outside apparently had people doing other things and there weren't many poeple to race to start, but a few more showed up later and joined in the racing after the first race. However it soon became apparent that a couple of the racers were fealling their "Oats" so to speak and were doing some pysical things to interfer with each other as well as the usual verbal back and fourth. Without naming names, some of the pysical things that took place was when one racer took up too much of another racer's area at drivers station, it caused the second racer to give the first a hockey style "Hip" check. Another incident happened when one racer reached for a pen in the pocket of another racer just when the race was about to restart from a yellow flag condition causing the second racer to crash in the next corner upon the restart. A third incident was when a certain "short" racer tried to reach across in front of another racer to try to retrieve his car which was involved with a crashed car, which the first racer had no chance to physically reach to begin with. These physical actions will not be tolerated with in the future during the races on Saturday's, resulting in DQ's. We are for the most part older Mature adults and we should act like it and show proper sportsmanship with each other. For a while I really felt like there should have been a referee there.

First race was Box Stock Nascar with Crash & Burn Rules
was FatMan with 70.05 laps
was Glitch with 64.20 laps
was C-Bill with 64.10 laps
4th was Root Road Racing with 62.45 laps
5th was Steve with 61.50 laps
6th was Sonic with 44.25 laps
Fastest lap was 9.589 seconds on White lane by FatMan.

Second Race was Box Stock Gt's with standard racing with track calls with 5 second penalty
was Glitch with 73.30 laps
was C-Bill with 69.90 laps
was FatMan with 69.30 laps
4th was Root Road with 69.10 laps
5th was Sonic with 68.70 laps
6th was Steve with 65.50 laps
7th was Hot Rod with 64.10 laps
8th was Jay with 55.85 laps
Fastest lap was 9.202 seconds on White lane by Glitch

Third race was Box Stock LMP's with same rules as Gt's
was FatMan with 78.10 laps
was Glitch with 74.15 laps
was Root Road with 73.55 laps
4th was Hot Rod with 71.75 laps
5th was C-Bill with 71.70 laps
6th was Steve with 67.45 laps
7th was Sonic with 66.50 laps
8th was Jay with 64.50 laps
Fastest lap was 8.650 seconds on Red lane by FatMan.
I hope all the stuff that happened was just a one time thing.
