Default We have this race down here this weekend.....

https://www.facebook.com/TENmotorspo...4065130763999/

The guy describing the lap is Mark Larkham, a Channel 10 TV commentator. Ex racer, he was on pole here many years ago, ex team owner and as a great trivia question, won the Indonesian Grand Prix in a Formula Holden (ex F3000 chassis...)

So far this year, it's been a bit all Blue Oval. After qualifying all 6 Fords in the field of 26 (the rest is 16 Holdens and 4 Nissans...) are in the Top Ten - DJR Team Penske look very ominous.....

Enjoy.

Cheers, Tony

Just over 1/4 distance, and the weather has made it a complete lottery...

This might work:

Tony's probably asleep, as usual.

Here's a link for Bathurst fans! (You gotta watch it, they're nuts down under.)

Bathurst is held in October.....

And we'll know you're serious, when you get into a flying aluminium coffin from Vancouver to Seeedneee (Sydney), and ask who is buying you the first round...

Mark, I know you spent a while recovering in Europe from your last difficult spell ...

But you might want to check your channel guide, assuming you have useful things like that on the telly down there.

(Looks for suitable sheep emoticon ... sadly, Photobucket is unusable unless you pay up first ... )

Default Different event

This weekend is an endurance race for sport cars not THE Bathurst race that Bov started the thread about.

TBH I have never heard of anyone watching the 12 hours sports car race. S'pose some ozzies do. Doesn't make the cut for sports channels across the ditch.

Default Well knock me down with a feather

I was flicking between the sports channels yesterday - Rugby 7s in Sydney (both the mens and women's NZ teams won their side of the tournament) - and no, you would not want to mess with the ladies, they are fit aaaaaas)

International Cricket vs. India in Wellington, NZ [don't ask], and there it was - sports cars racing down a hill, making about as much noise as the tradies vans driving down our street to the new houses . . . . but as you say, excellent future designs and liveries for slot cars....

It still didn't hold my attention. Seeing some kiwi girls that look like female Line-backers, run over some of Bov's tribe was way more entertaining.

Not in the race, but done this past week, the new Brabham broke the track record, for the second time, by running around the loop in under 2 minutes.....

And how come Alan hasn't installed a kiwi flag in the smilies . . . . I thought this place was getting a make-over and botox.

I watched about 6 hours of it on Youtube. The last half hour was brilliant though I was rooting for the Aston Martin. Well done, Porsche!
