Post Race #2

I was just out there running my RAA 2006 Green 962 and the track is ready. Traction is awesome. Wow! For those who haven't tried a micro-fiber tack rag, get one! These tack rags are the best for cleaning flat latex painted wood tracks. Unbelievable!

Looking forward to this race. I'm going to qualify all the GT cars on one day and qualify all the P cars the next day. This will give each class of cars the same track conditions to qualify on.
Race format will be done one lane/day/class. If time permits me to complete one lane for both classes/day then I'll do it. Have to wait and see. I won't drag this out or keep the cars any longer than needed.

Time to plant some trees.
Terry

Like the view from behind? Don't worry, you'll get used to it.
I'll have two big pine trees with your name on it at the end of the straight. We'll see who gets stuck.

Hey Terry. Just curious, do you have adjustable brakes and sensitivity on that controller? If so, do you adjust for each cars characteristics or are all run the same?

My PM2048 only has the sensitivity screws. All but one of the screws are installed. All of the Slot.it motors work great at that setting.

Wet, I tried a train transformer on my test track and it made smoke come out of the motor of my 962. Must not of hurt it too bad, the car is tied for second place (so far) at the Pikes Peak Race.

Terry,

What is the average lap length in feet that you want to be used for the scoring of distance covered? I need this to update the spreadsheet. (don't have room for a;; three lane lengths, so an average of the three will have to do).

Thanks!

Dennis

Post Its time!

Cars arrived this afternoon via USPS.
Neighbor kids know I'm into slotcars and when they saw me carrying a big box to the shop, they just had to see what was in it. It was like X-Mas unwrapping each car. The kids each pointed out their favorites and I thought I'd share their choices with you.

-JTPrevia, Corvette and Dr.Vanski Porsche 936 picked by 8 year old girl. She had to pick two b/c those two cars are the coolest. Smart girl.

-Gascarnut, Lola T70 picked by 5 year old boy. He said that car has to be the fastest....can I drive it? I told him no, he can drive the WCR Flunder instead.

-Abie321, Jaguar E-Type picked by 6 year old boy. He liked the looks of it and wanted to get one for himself to race on the targa. Atta boy.

My lovingly wife decided to pick one from GT and Prototype. I thought for sure she would pick mine. Yeah right, whatever.
She picked both cars of PeteN95, Gulf Ford Capri and Ferrari 330 P4. She said both of those cars looked like winners. Oh brother.

Guys all the cars look very nice except for the broken rear wing on Tony Kuljis Capri and the exhaust on Dave Kennedy's Porsche came loose during transit. Both will be an easy fix.
I almost forgot. One mirror on Reckless's taxi cab Gulf Ford Capri is missing. Must be laying around ENYR somewhere.

GT qualifying will start tomorrow. Both classes qualifying and race results will be on a seperate thread to make it easier to follow.
Good luck everyone.

Terry

Good to hear the cars arived more or less safely, and thanks for protecting the Lola from the 5 year old!

Are you going to give the cars some oil and clean off all the Ortmann dust and other unidentified contaminants from the depths of the ENYR basement? If so, please note there's a small hole in the middle of the rear axle tube on the Lola - that's an oil hole for a small drop of your chosen lubricant as well as at the ends of the tube. Thanks!
