I Run the “Setup.exe”
The screen comes up “Do you accept the terms of the pending License Agreement?” for .NET Framework 3.5
I click “Accept”
Says it is downloading dotnet
Then this is the error I get:
“Another verison of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Progams on the Control Panel”

I am running W7 x64 btw

couple of clarifications:
- are you getting this error when you install UR30?
- keep in mind ur30 is compiled for 32bits. What's about running UIR30 installation/update in 32bit mode?

Yes I was installing UR30 3.0.30b2, When I went to start UR 3.0.30b1 on Sunday it suggested there was a update for 3.0.30b2, so I downloaded it and tried to install it. I am currently running UR30 3.0.30b1 on the W7 x64 with no issues at all and it installed fine.

I just tried to download it again to make sure the files were not corrupted and it is no longer in the list of downloads.

30b1 is available here: http://uracer.org/ur30/UR30_30b1.zip

You do not need to install dotnet to run 30b2 on W7. I just would like to know first:
- when does UR30 ask you for .net? During the installation or when starting UR30?
- when does UR30 30b2 hang?

Thx for the clarifications.

In case of interest: a google with W7 & .net 3.5 compatibility:
http://www.google.com/search?q=dotne...equested+on+W7

ok, thx. Never get this one before! I'll check the setup options.

Workaround: install ur30 on another box, then copy & paste racer30 installation folder from the new installation to the box you want to make the installation. Caution: save a copy of your databse before, then restore it after the copy (slotcar30.db file)

Default Problems saving with 3.0.30b2

I’m now running UR30 3.0.30b2, thanks for all you ,
I have an issue saving a new track and using save as. I can edit and existing track and it saves fine.
I have tried on W7 x86 and W7 x64
On W7 x86 when I click save or save as the application just crashes.
On W7 x64 when I click save or save as, the save dialog box comes up, but it is blank and just hangs.

Have you tried to run ur30 as administrator?
Can you check you have full access rights on ur30 installation folder?

This was a new install of 3.0.30b2, should I try uninstalling 3.0.30b2 then installing 3.0.30b1 then installing 3.0.30b2?

I am proceeding with W7 tests (please refer to the thread about the save layout crash for the analysis).

Interesting FAQ for information: www.uracer.org/ur30/FAQ.htm#Q2
