The main reason is I am sure some guys will still want to run the Ortmanns. After all, they still have them and they cars are currently setup for them. So if we spec the s2 at this point it creates a problem.
I totally see your point Fergy and I am going to put up a post with the official notice of a Rule change.
The Tire diameter rule has been changed to 20mm to acomodate the s2's. The width rule is still the same, 11mm maximum.
They must also be mounted on a stock slot it 15x8.
Again, I am totally for specing the s2's for the next series, I just don;t want to eliminate the ortmanns at this point.
I present the Race Report. We had 14 racers out last night again! Awesome!
It was our first official race where all the racers had the option to run the Slot it tires. As predicted it was a little faster than previous weeks. I was surprised to find about half of the guys still running on the Ortmanns.
Chris came out to run in the Porsche Series last night. His car looked great and he ran almost 3 Laps more than the previous week. Nice run man!
Tim had a fantastic run with a Solid 4th place finish right behind Serge. Both had clean runs, Serges car lost some speed in the early heats though.
Rory had a great run, he completed 2 more laps than his previous total. His car is suffering from old motor syndrome, expect a faster one soon!
Bill B had another great showing with a 6th Place finish. It looks like he is out to make Ronnie eat his words! Nice run Bill!!!
Mike L came out again last night, he was the only one representing the O'Conner Hobbies crew and did a fine job with a mid pack finish. He ran a very respectable 182. Excellent run Mike!
We also had a first time Slot Racer, Nikhl came out to run with some of the best. He spent about a total of 20 minutes on the track before the race. I have a feeling he will improve greatly with a little more track time. He left with a smile on his face and we expect to see him out next Friday again!

Another Great effort form Rory as well. A clean run as usual and a well deserved result.
Bill B had a fantastic run to prove he can finish on the podium. Looks like he is a contender after all!!! He even was the better half of NapTime Racing on this occasion. Excellent Run Bill!!!!

And that's it Guys! See you all Friday. Congrats to all who finished well!
Last night was a fantastic night of racing. The jokes just didn't stop!!
We were back in fine form with 15 racers out to battle for the win!!!
First to mention is Fergy with another Stellar Run! He took the Top Spot from Rory by about a half lap after 20 minutes of racing. Nice Run Fergy.
Tim had a Great Race with another Podium finish. Excellent!
Franco found a Car Owner that had a fast car that needed to be raced. He ran a clean race and finished just off the podium. Nice run Franco!
Long time Slot Racer Jim Toye and relative newcomer Mario had one of the closest finishes I have ever seen. After 5 heats Jim took the win over Mario by less than 1 cm. Unbelievable!!!! I think that calls for a grudge match!!! A fantastic effort by both competitors!
Finally, I would like to mention Tom's run. He was easily on track for the win when in his last heat on Red, we had the controller start to "miss". Without a doubt it ruined the heat for him and gave the win to Fergy. Either way it was a great run.
I almost forgot, Bill B won Race Bucks.................again.
Now the Lap totals:
Fergy - 184.875
Rory - 184.305

Thats it Guys. Thanks to all who came out!!
See you all Friday for the Second Last race in the Series.
Lot's of fun guys... All i can say 8th fastest car, 3rd place finish... out of 1st by 1.5 laps... i'll take the steal. Tom bad luck... as Forest say's 'it happens'.
Love the close racing. Some great dices with everyone. Keep it up guy's... need something to look forward to.
Tim
Ps ... yes Ron my Alfa is already painted and will decal on sunday... should be ready for next Friday
But Rory's recent penchant for being just behind my butt at the end of each Porsche race is becoming a little disconcerting. What is he doing back there anyway, just a few short feet behind me? (Notice he doesn't finish that close behind Bill B's butt.... gee, I wonder why... ) Next week, Rory will again ask why he is the 'butt' of our jokes....
Seriously, (are we ever?), managing to edge out Rory two weeks in a row is a satisfying thing, whether it's for a win or not - the guy just does not come off and runs killer quick. D@mn... I think I just accidentally complimented him...
It's a shame that a controller issue affected Tom to the degree it did - I am certain it robbed him of a sure win. Perhaps, in the future, it might be practical (as we did in CMARC) to have a backup controller to prove/solve such situations or restart the heat after track/controller repairs are made. Just tossing out a couple of ideas for future consideration.
I love these... ...and I don't apologize for it! Heck, these are probably the only two I'll ever see!
Ferguson Motorsports, Dundalk, Ontario - May 9, 2009
Confirming recent rumours, it is possible that Ferguson Motorsports may field a second car for the May 15th Porsche Series event at Race Haven.
Team principle, Brian Ferguson, said "We've considered this for awhile, but it just has not been practical until this event. Our time allows for it for this one event only, and we have a second Porsche already prepared, so it appears my son may be out to race the second team car on a one-off basis."
Brad Ferguson has no previous competitive experience, but the 17-year-old has some seat time under his belt and hopes that a day of practice will bring him up to a respectably competitive level.
With under a week to go, Brad is battling the flu, but his personal trainer hopes he will be in shape for the event on the 15th.
Further details will be announced as the information becomes available.
Barring a relapse, Brad, still recovering from a heavy-duty viral infection (no, not contagious any longer!), will kick off the Victoria Day weekend by his first appearance at Race Haven tomorrow night before we trek off to Mosport for Sunday.
I can hear the motors starting to rev up already. Will be there for Friday before i need to be at Mosport for Saturday morning. Looking forward to dicing with you again Fergy. I trust that you will do the right thing and give your son the good car and not the beater.
We had 10 Racers out to battle for the win. Not to bad considering it was a long weekend with many taking off for the cottage.
Fergy with another decisive win! He was about a lap ahead of Rory.
Bill B is officially a contender with a solid 3rd place finish. He has employed a new fuel strategy that has helped him tremendously. Or should I say "Gas".
Mario in his second race is already up to a 4th place finish. Expect a podium finish soon! Nice Run Mario.
Tim is a model of consistency with a 5th place finish. I have a feeling he is going to be right there in the points standings. I will post them later this afternoon.

Fergy and Bill with a tie for Fast Lap. Wow!! Mario with a 6.19 in his second race, UNBELIEVABLE!!
Thanks to all who came out and I hope to see everyone for the Last Race of the Spring Porsche Series this Friday.
This is the total going into the last race. You must take away your 2 worst results. That will give you your current points total and show you where you stand in the Series.
Ron you need to hand out gas masks....Soon!!.Old stinkweed(Bill) needs to be fumigated, also I feel we should put to vote a DEPENDS mandate for Bill's wardrobe.
