New Audi and Peugeot LMP cars. They look to be a new high-water mark in 1/64 detail (and coolness). Plus lotsa bigger-than-9" curves.

Sadly, These sets needed to be in the stores in September or October. Xmass sales are hugh for slot car sets. It seems that Tomy/AFX will lose out on many of these sales. This could result in a cash flow issue that could put other Mega G R&D projects on hold for a while.

Stez, You're exactly right. That's what's really going to impact us. The nuisance of us having to wait even longer to buy sets we'll probably buy anyway is a minor pain when compared to the impact that missing revenue from holiday shoppers will have on the operations of a small team - and, in turn, to us as mega-fans of new HO products.

Hopefully, the fact that their biggest seller, the Super Int'l, did get out there, will offset some of that loss.

24 hr Champ set missing Christmas, which seems real now, is sad indeed.

You can be sure that they didn't miss the Christmas deadline because they wanted to miss it. As a fellow manufacturer in the hobby industry, straight up, **** happens. Outside supplier issues, last minute modifications, sometimes something as stupid as the boxes not being available.

Again, does anyone know if the cars will be here before the sets or are those behind schedule too? Thanks.

Downtown,
I'm sure your right. I bet Tomy/AFX thought they would have these sets by the end of August at the latest. I'm guessing the culprit is "Made In China"

I think the major underlying problem was legislation compliance. The usual 'china syndrome' stuff is on top of that...

What really surprises me is that I am almost 49 years and very disapointed that I won't be getting a 24 Hour set this Christmas!

I am equally as bummed(and equally as young)and was looking forward to having a 24HR Champions set for christmas too!!!

What about the Cars availability and the plain bodies, anyone know for sure?? If the sets are going to be delayed they(the Cars and bodies) might come out at the same time as the set.

Talked to John Cukras yesterday. He said the container is in and they would be unloading today and tomorrow. Will ship as fast as possible. Separate cars will not be avaliable til late Jan.
