Hi, I ran my first organized slot car race at the Race-Wear Scaleauto event. I'm looking to get some more experience with these cars. I have one of each. I'd appreciate any advise for a newcomer.
I know the scaleauto car has a wood guide and braids but do I need a different guide for the BRM?
Adding weight to only the interior- does this mean we can only put weights on the underside of the interior tray or that the weights have to be contained inside the car not under the chassis?
What is the running time going to be for each lane?

Keech

The weight has to be inside the car chassis not underneath the exterior of the chassis. It can be on the chassis just inside.

The running time for the races will be 5 minutes per lane on an 8 lane track.

The BRM will need a wood guide. We will be using the NJ SCALE Racing Group ruleset for BRM(as soon as i can find them) and it specifies the recommended guide.

A couple of our guys came down for that race at Racewear. Martin Dixon and Robert Holt. That is where we got the idea for this race. It got back to us that those guys had never run these cars on a wood track. They really shine on wood!! So pass it along to the Racewear crowd that we are hoping some of them can make it to MT. Holly, NJ for the race.

Hey Ron, I remember you from a couple of weekends ago at Race Wear, I was driving the black Scale Auto Porsche, and the Black BRM Toyota.

Will PM you a set of the NJ rules for Scale Auto and BRM, hope you can make it to one of our races.

Thanks.

Default A drop of the good stuff!!!

That is shaping up to be a good looking car. I would love a "Shot" of it when it's finished

See you at the Races.

I'm gonna try to make the race on the 19th, depending on work/family situation. I hadn't been to Speed Zone in a while, I forgot if there's spray glue on the track we'd be running on. Can you confirm?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I just checked with the manager Jay Kisling and he says the track is lightly glued and rubbered in. It is much lighter than the track we raced on this weekend. Those guys just had an incredible superstar race weekend fri, sat, sun with guys from all over the country! Track is optimum!

By the way Jay Kisling is Ranked in the top 100 racers worldwide in the 1/24 classes of racing! He will be racing in the Worlds next year in Barcelona Spain where on of the race classes will be identically prepared Scaleauto Porsches!

Nice purple target to lean on, then usher into the wall. Good thing that carbon fibre is on there to keep it together.

And don't let Martin test drive it before the race, you may have no car left.
