I am doing a test assembly before painting and it seems the body sits so low on the chassis that all four tires rub. I have already put the four rubber cups over the body posts and this seems to help a little. Did anyone else have this problem? It seems difficult to tamper with the rear wheel width as this would affect the gear mesh and the fronts are already snugged up all the way. Any suggestions? Thanks. Glen

Help Assembling BRM Mini White Kit

Thanks so much for the information. After looking at it closely, it seemed like the chassis was a bit forward in the body shell, causing the front tires to rub against the front of the wheel arches. I did a little trimming with an Xacto knife, then sanded the arches smooth and that seemed to fix the problem, front and back. I think after I true the tires everything should be just fine. You are correct, slotbutton, the tolerances are tight, but I really like the way the the whole car is built and I am sure I will getting another couple at least.
Thanks, Dingle! So far everything seems pretty straight-forward with the white kit. I'm doing this just for fun during a pandemic. My modeling skills kinda suck, so I probably won't be posting pix. It's fun though, have a great time.

If I understand Your issue correctly, here's a "tuning" fix that's worked for me:
1. There are four Red "Screw mounts" that connect the Center Chassis section with the Outer Chassis Section.
2. Loosen the outer Screw and this will allow the Center Chassis section to move / float forward or backwards just a little a bit.
3. The Red piece is indexed to limited its forward / backward movement.
4. If you want move movement, you can turn them upside down (...with the notch facing up) to allow even more movement.
Be careful as this can change the width of the Chassis. Once you fiddle with it, you'll see what I mean.

Wow! Thanks so much Sil. Great information and I love your teaching assistant. Unfortunately, these adjustments apparently don't exist on the mini. Actually, funny story, I tried loosening the screws that hold the center section to the outer section to see what it would do and in about two test laps the vibration undid all four screws and spread them around the track for me to find... Thanks again for the info. Have fun! Glen

We true tires and there are lower profile tires for the Mini also.
To cure tire contact other that tire truing, we use the S-011 type spacers under the rubber boots. This raises the body allowing tire clearance.Alan Smith

As Alan mentioned, I've used various combinations of these guys with great success.
132slotcar.us may have them / something similar available.
Got these from a couple local places..
Again, fitment takes some "trial-n-error" to get the trim level just right.

Ha! It must be pretty loud over at your place, Silberpfeil.Thank you all. I thought about spacers under the cups, but did not have the right size handy. Thanks for the suggestions and part numbers. I also need at least one 1/24 scale BRM axle for my tire truer (left over from proxy days), so I will be placing an order with Alan soon. Thanks, again! Glen

My BRM mini - white kit came with the spaces to put inside the rubber cups so the ride height is just right. They are thin little washers. No problem with tyre rub at all.
