New BRM Classics

Wish I could be over there taking part in the BRM racing at Scaletracing centre. It was exciting to see the Ferrari 512 and Porsche 917 with the new chassis will be available soon.

I hope they are getting a good workout. Would be interested in how they compare to the older chassis cars.

I am excited to see a new classic car joining the lineup. The GT40 is an iconic car and it will be nice to have a scale model slot car version. I would have been happy with a Lola T70 as it the right era to race the 917 and 512 but the GT40 suggests to me that the Ferrari 330 needs to be the next car BRM does so there is a race partner for the GT40.

While any new BRM is welcome, Carrera already does a GT MkII, a 330 P4, and a Lola T70.
Why not something like a Ford MkIV or Chaparral 2D or 2F?

Whilst I would like to see a Ford MKIV it raced for what one season so probably has limited appeal. The Chaparral I am not sure why no one does them - maybe a licensing question.

As for Carrera already doing the cars in 1/24 - I think there is a bit of a difference between the BRM cars and Carrera cars. A bit like Scalextric/Carrera vs slot.it/nsr/thunderslot

Also BRM are doing the MK1 so I can see them doing the Le Mans winning Gulf cars... no one is doing a MK1 in 1/24/

Whilst the GT40 may have been over done in 1/32 scale - Carrera or make your own is the only (modern) option in 1/24 scale so I am looking forward to the cars and will certainly be buying some.
