    While every motor will be slightly different.

    Plus may require a different gear ratio to get the best out of the Driver,Set Up, Car and Tires. we run BRM Cars every week and even with big differences in skill level of the drivers the cars are very competitive.

    When running BRM Races it is common to have less than 2/10th of a second fast lap between most of the cars.

    We have started using the Race Motor this year ( after 2 years with the Stock Motor ) and do find they last longer, and have stronger brakes.

    We find BRM Cars way closer to being equal than NINCO, or even

    Of course you have to set up the car, most important areas are gear mesh and truing the rear tires. Plus using the best BRM Gear Ratio for your Track and Driving Style.

    We have raced Magnet and now run non magnet, tuning with the BRM weights.

    When running with Magnets it was critical to measure downforce with a Magnet Marshal to level the field.

    The other area that can greatly improve control on BRM Cars is the Guide Shim and using the thinner guide when running on NINCO Track.

      To me the motors are not equal to each other,

      I may look at trying a plafit fox motor and seeing what the car will do then with these.

      As for the gears, BLAH - Threw them into the bin , as they were loud in the meshing, even after
      some cutting compound used. So threw in a plafit crown and pinion - Smooth

      Will let you know later on how the Fox Goes.

        Agreed, but when you have 3-4 drivers that are very consistent and equal, the fella with the fastest car wins.

          BRM Challenge for Porsche only in 2009.

          This year all BRM Challenge races are for the 10 Porsche models.

          The International race at Slotlandia will also be for the Porsche cars only.

          Next year the Toyota's will join the racing, but for this year only the Porsche are allowed.

          BRM and National Final August 21st-23rd Entry $150.00 including a Special Edition Event car.

          Both the BRM and Final are 6 hour 2 man Team Endurance races No lights required or allowed.

            BRM-Slot National Final rule clarifications.

            With the Finals only a few weeks away I would like to clarify a point or 2 on the BRM Rules.

            It is not and has never been legal to run drill blank axles, anyone found doing so will be excluded.

            This series is for BRM Cars ( Porsche ) and parts in STOCK condition. No cutting or modifying in any way is legal.

            No filing the front of the chassis for braid clearance.
            No modifying ride height of either Front or Rear axles.
            No removing flashing on chassis.
            All parts must be fitted in the stock position as designed by BRM.

            Exceptions, you may remove mirrors, and front wing-lets on cars supplied with them.
            You may bullet proof the car body preferably with Shoo Goo, you may also tape the rear wing end-plates to the side of the body.
            Headlight buckets must be fitted if the came with that particular model.
            Tow Hook may be removed, but the molding in the body must not be modified.
            Body screws and washers may be glued to each other to ease fitment. You may not use longer body screws or run with screws loose.
            You may not open chassis holes to create more body float, nor modify in any way body or chassis to create float.
            Only stock guides unmodified are allowed, you may not use more that one o-ring or a non stock o-ring, and o-ring can not be glued on.

            Either braid is allowed.
            Guide and Motor Shims allowed.
            Weight minimum is 180 grams using unmodified BRM weights.
            Magnet retaining strap must be fitted.
            NO MAGNETS allowed.

            The BRM Class should be easy to tech as it is basically for STOCK Cars, magnets removed, weight added to at least 180 grams minimum. Motor and tires changed, one Motor shim is allowed and recommended.

            When fitting the Motor shim you can not tighten the screws down tight as the motor now sits .6mm higher. You may use glue to hold in the screws as they can only be snugged down, or you may use BRM axle spacers to space the strap. You may not glue in the Motor. Tightening down the screws too hard will either break to Motor Mount posts, break the underside of the chassis, or break the Motor strap. Take care here to avoid problems in the Race.

              BRM Challenge rules 2010

              Well time is flying by this year, and I have not had time to update the Challenge Rules yet.

              There will be a few changes allowed not documented in the Rule set here, but for the most part the Rules are the same.

              Only things I can see that will make a difference are the allowing of modification to the Porsche Chassis to fit the S-026SW wood track guide and the use of the S-033 black can race motor.
              Toyota's will be allowed in the Finals this year, but must run slightly narrower than Porsche and must be up to minimum weight of 180 grams.

              More soon but this gets you going.

                  BRM 4th Annual National Final 2 Hour Team Endurance Race. Qualifying rounds Friday night subject to entries. BRM Challenge Rules, Hand out black motor and hand out sponge tires.
                  Scaleauto First National Final Scaleauto 1/24 cars. Stock Chassis, hand out motor and sponge tires.

                  Sunday 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM
         Shoot Out Final Round and invitational with guest of honor Maurizio Ferrari begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting from
                  IROC Races.

                  Entry for BRM Final $20.00 per Team.
                  Entry for Scaleauto Final 25.00 per Team

                  Entry to raceway per day which includes all practice and fun races, plus all qualifying rounds and Slot/Scaleauto GT Challenge $15.00 per day.

                  Also planned a big announcement for Slot Car racing more soon!!!!
