I found this article from last September. Basically the CEO of the investment firm who bought Carrera from the Stadlbauer family races in the LeMans series in Europe. You guys have probably seen the car. It's probably impossible for him to resist tracking the very model he drives on the racetrack.

    See article from slotcartoday:

I didn't think it was a problem ot post a news link. It was from a news site not a site similar to SCI

    Thanks Carlos.

Round2 inc, which makes HO slot cars and other hobby products was recently purchased by an American VC Firm: https://praesidian.com/praesidian-ca...bles-business/

Money in this hobby business, after all these years, interesting....

Yeah.... A pandemic will do that when forced to stay home.

I'd say more than that. VC money is not easy to get. They don't invest in businesses based on stability, they invest based on growth. VC's expect a company to grow by a minimum of 500% or they won't even take a look, a more real world expectation is 10X to 20X growth in 3-6 years. That's far more growth potential than what I see from Round2 but they have people much much smarter than me making these decisions. Obviously they see something I don't see. Something like this bodes extremely well for the slot car industry, especially if it goes well.

That's a smart looking livery on the Ferrari.

                  Hmmm... Ferrari!

I bought it because that's what the CEO drives in LeMans. But I think the car is a stunning car to look at regardless of the reason. Those gold wheels against the red Ferrari paint make it a real looker. Drove it a couple hours this past weekend and will do the same this upcoming weekend.

Maybe they're going to go hard on mass media advertising. That'll be good for the industry.

Wow, its out already? And that is a good point MrFlippant.

I didn't think Carrera were doing Ferrari due to licensing issues, I had another look at the 2021 list and can see several so shows I'm out of touch Never ever thought I would see a livery quite like that.
