Lets see if anyone is still here. Does anyone here besides 32LbKing run 1/24 cars?

    Hey Dave, I do
Haven't kept up with all the details as much in the last 3 or 4 years, but still loving D124 cars!!

I do, but not in anger. Just on my little track.
Just purchased a pre-owned BRM Ferrari 512S to add to the collection. Still haven’t placed an order with Alan for other BRM. One of those “round to it” things.
I like the new Carrera Ford GTE offering in IMSA livery, plus the upcoming Lola T70 coupes.
It looks like the BRM/TTS offerings are catching on here in the states. Very popular at a Swiss race center I visited a year ago.

I have a BRM NSU and Mini and 2 Carrera 1/24 917k's that I like to run. The BRM's are amazing. The Carreras are heavy and I just like seeing them go around a couple times.

We run them at our race group here in Australia. We run Carrera classic, GT and DTM classes regularly and we also run the BRM mini saloons and we have been building 1/24 Grand Prix cars using old Merit kits and resin bodies as well.

The D124 cars are great class to run occasionally you get a 'hot' car but for the most part the racing is really close. Bit like running Ninco NC-1 driver skill is the factor not engine spec. We run them with magnets in but one of the chaps is building an new non mag track at the moment so we will start to run them non mag on his track soon. Hopefully will swing others to running them non mag as well.

One of the tracks we race on has 5 lanes. 5 Big Carrera GTs or DTMs thundering down the straight together is awesome - they have a real presence about them

          cheers
          David

Hey David, could you start a thread about your clubs 1/24 Grand Prix cars when you get some built? I would love to see those

And I bet the 5 lanes of D/124 cars is an awesome sight

David with 5 lanes are you running analog? Agree with Randy a few pics of the group and the cars would be nice. Need to build up our Carrera base here.

I know you don't run digital but is there room in there for a chip?

                  New 1/24 addition.
Detail parts and chassis spacer to be added.

We are all analog - did have one Carrera digital track in the group but he is the chap building a new routed braid track non mag.

I posted the Grand Prix cars on other forum when SCI wasn't working so good will start a thread on here. I have 7 or so built already

Pretty sure some of those BRM mini saloons come with holes to put digital chips in. They are also great to run - once again very close racing. We mostly run them stock no magnet though some people do change the tyres.

                      cheers

Hi Dave. Bruce from Cincyslots digitized three BRM Minis for me, so yes, there is space for a chip. Oh and I run D124 exclusively, except for the F1 cars which only exist in 132. That said, I have quite a few D132 cars but they're for the kids.

                            Dinglebery...I agree.
BRM's 1/24's are a blast to run / tinker with.

Thanks to Alan / SRC for offering them up and helping with tuning bits, as well.

                              Hey Dave-
I have Carrera D124 track and cars, just got a new house with a space large enough to set the track back up. I was a kid in the 70's that grew up on a healthy dose of Tyco and AFX cars in HO scale (as well as trains) and remember a club downtown with a routed track with about 8 lanes and BIG slot cars (1/24) and always wished that I had the money to get into big scale slotcars! I picked up a used Carrera D132 set about 5 years ago and enjoyed racing 6 cars at once with friends but once I had the cash to buy a couple of 1/24 cars and an upgraded power supply it was a game changer for me! The big cars handle and accelerate differently. The big cars are more exciting to watch and drift in the corners and do not launch off of the track like the 1/32 cars will do. IF you try 1/24 scale cars I believe that you will be selling your 1/32 scale cars soon after! I use Bruce's software with a computer interface and I added dual pit lanes, a total blast especially with a few friends involved!
