        A general rule is not to put a curve under an elevated section because it may cause sight issues for the braking points, but in this case your curves will not actually be under the elevated section. The 180 degree 1/60 turn on the right would be elevated, but shouldn't be an issue.
        The L to R LC in the back might be an issue, because even with the single 4/15 before it you could be carrying a lot of speed when you get to it and cause a deslot. I would try it where it is, and if it is an issue move the LC to the section between the 180 degree turn and the single 4/15.

        Hello again folks! I dug my rabbit hole a bit deeper recently . I elevated a portion of the infield and added 3 straights to either side of the right side 180 degree turn. The infield elevation is gradual to a 2 ½ inch height and the decline into the sweeping curve on the right side is nice and gradual as well. I like this layout. The marshalling problems I anticipated aren't bad and the cars can go pretty quickly. The infield section has to be driven slower for better lap times (less drifting in the turns). I've included the Softy Bahnplaner layout product and photos of the actual track. Dale

          • It is fun, but I haven’t run it in a few days. Right Currently, here in Tampa the outside feel is 103 degrees, since my track is in the garage, it’s too hot even with a couple of fans running to really enjoy the track. Maybe this evening I’ll load the new track specifications into SmartRace and time all the cars.

            • No races tonight tom and Kathy have a birthday party there hosting and Jim and Verrna had a wedding to go to. So I'll be playing with my new pink pig and 74 capri from carrera. The new cars are starting to arrive.

                  • dw5555 he's deffinatley a firecracker' I've been working 60-70 hrs a week so videos have been lacking on getting posted. Weather changed so work has slowed down but our racing never has almost a year now. We should be focusing on some expansion of the track and some landscaping also. cant wait, keep a eye out for some more videos, keep on making videos my friend I always enjoy yours.

                      • TURN THE RADIO OFF!!!!! Well that video was different. In my experience the NSR's are soooooooooo smooth. I would even put them above the Slot-It's. You're going to have to fund Tom and Kathy with Slot-it's. With the crew you have there going magless is going to be a huge undertaking. It's going to take a lot of time especially with Kathy. Don't be surprised if your lap times double. Quite honesty I'm not sure you are going to enjoy it much.

                        The important thing to remember is racers will ALWAYS say racing with magnets is not really racing because you don't have to drive the car. Don't fall into that hole. Try baby steps. Lose the rear mags on your cars so they drift when pushed so you actually have to slow in the corners. I went magless early on and the people I had over weren't that experienced and couldn't drive em well so I went the rear mags out route and everyone was happy. They still come out but they get a lot further.

                        • I have a long list of reasons for preferring real traction over magnetic traction, but "it's really racing" is not one of them. I actually consider magnet RACING to be harder than non-mag, because of the thin line between holding on in the turn, and flying off without any chance of recovery. This, of course, depends on HOW MUCH magnet traction there is, and its strength relative to the weight and speed of the car.

                          If you want people to learn to pick up non-mag faster and with less frustration, start them with the power WAY down until they learn to brake properly and then use the right amount of power through the turn. As they learn it and improve, you turn the power up for them. Same as magnet racing, really.

                          • Dw I was nervous so I needed the music to relax me????????????. I don’t speak in my normal videos. See you have experience over me in speaking videos and no mag racing. The only reason I’m tending to lean towards slot it is the ease of chipping them. So far I’m impressed by both of there out of the box performance. My next purchase will be a Brm and revo, I like what I’ve seen on the slot car guys reviews with those cars , so I have to try them. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate your advice. We all are eagerly awaiting your next video. Thanks Dave

I have to commend you for all your doing in the hobby, world wide slot car chat, the 3D printing stuff for slot cars and tracks it awesome and inspiring. I watch them all and maybe someday I’ll actually get to participate in a live one????. Love to pick your brain on digital racing, like oxygen systems, controllers you seem to have quite the knowledge on digital racing. I’ll try all the items you suggested to get my group converted over to mag less racing and I really appreciate your time and effort to watch and comment on my videos. Like I said I’m basically doing these new videos for “Slot cars for Dummies “ because I believe I’m the leader in that category ????. Well thanks for watching, keep it in the slot.

                                In the end, the only thing that matters is that you're having fun. If it ever stops being fun, I encourage people to check out a different facet of the hobby, rather than give it up. Some find new love by switching to magless, or changing scale, or turning to landscaping or tuning, or scratch building. I know you're not giving up or getting bored, just something I like to say. LOL
