  • You are correct Greg I’m no where close to bored or losing interest , there’s just too many facets to this hobby. And then there’s all the stuff I don’t even know about yet. I’m just enjoying the journey

    • Well here we go, we had our first no magnets 1/32 championship last night. It was quite different racing but really enjoyable, I think everyone who was there enjoyed it and agreed we need to have a no magnet class in both 1/32 and 1/24 . Well I’m all for completely doing away with magnets permanently but there not there yet so I’ll settle for half the races be no mags. Thanks guys for suggesting no mags.

      • Excellent! Looked like some great racing, and I could tell they were doing well for their first race with gravity traction.

          • I don't have a race APP so I have a ? about pitstops with cars without lights. The 1/32 Nascars appear to get about 12 laps with a full fuel load before I need to pit but I have no idea when they are done fueling.....I just do best guess.
The 1/24s with lights is not a problem.
I got a driver display but couldn't get the fuel portion to work so I'm going to try the Carrera APP connect with a laptop and use some of the other functions as well.
****, I have to figure out how to post pictures and videos.

Are you using a pit lane with the pit lane adapter? I assume so. I can't remember for sure but I don't think the driver display shows fuel level without the PLA. Maybe somebody else knows better. I don't use them so I could be completely wrong about that.

We use smartrace with all the upgrades it’s like 29$ a year to subscribe, then you can turn all smart phones into driver stations and also the ability to stop track if you crash and also the option to assess a penalty for crashing

                  • Well here we go another unboxing of some completely new cars to me . If you have any experience with either one of these cars please leave any suggestions you have to improve there performance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for watching.

                    • Yo Timmy, much better. I love those little Brm's. I've always wanted to pick up a couple That Alpha looks great. I like the Capri's too. I going to be really curious how you handle those short wheelbase 1/24 cars on the track. I did get to try out some Brm MInis on a wood track a few years ago when I was racing but for me they were a little tippy. Out of curiosity, why are you going with the Slot-it chips? I thought they are not as robust as the Carrera chips.

                      • Well I heard the slot it chips were more robust, I did use a Carrera chip in this but the little screws on the chassis kind of interferes with the chip in the car. I’ll make a decision after I receive the slot it chip and try it out. Good to hear from ya. Still looking forward too your next video?

                          • Well done, very good video. The Revo looked good. Out of the box it ran well. I think with some practice, tires, body float and a little weight you should be down in the 7 sec range. Is this your 1st anglewinder? Gear mesh is critical on these bad boys.

                            • Thanks Dave, it’s my second anglewinder but I don’t have any experience with it only got that one a cpl weeks ago haven’t had anytime to drive it. Will be looking for some silicone tires that fit it. How to you set the gear mesh? A piece of paper between the gears. Do you have any revo’s or Brm’s cars? What brand is your favorite? I’m leaning towards slot it, so far they just seem like you get more bang for the buck. Hopefully you don’t mind all the shoutouts we give you over here , but you we’re one of the first to reach out when I was a total newbie so you we’re pretty influential in the direction I went in the hobby. Just our way to show some love ❤️

                              • I've never had any Revo's or Brm's. sold all my 1/32 stuff years ago when I got out of racing. I still have 1 slot-it Gt40 that I kept after all these years. I was very competitive and still runs good. For me the NSR was still the better car. It was a lot smoother, but you're right about Slot-it's, you do get more bang for your buck.

The sidewinder gear mesh is adjusted more by eyeball and feel than anything else. I'm sure there may be some proper way of setting it up but the way I was taught was you don't want to see any movement between the pinion and the spur gear but you want to feel that there is play. I know it sounds weird but you can feel if it's loose or tight.
