Ok let me hear the reasons you guys have painted your track? Looks, traction performance just had a can of paint you needed to get rid of. Would you do it again? Did it help like you thought? What paint did you use? And has anyone painted there track and used copper tape on a carrera track? If so why and how difficult was it?

So only two 1/32 cars running this time for one 75 lap race and about 20 laps into our second race this happens again? Track shuts off but cu still has one light on both doggels stay on but all other accessories shut off including cars. Anyone have any ideas? How idot you reset cu?

You are really having trouble with your CU.

                  Mr BigT:

I see you are using the Bluetooth dongle. What version of CU firmware are you running? This information is available in both SmartRace and the Carrera RaceApp. I don't use either, so I can't tell you for sure where to look. Likely a menu option somewhere labelled 'Settings', or 'Hardware' or 'Info', or something along those lines.

I ask, because Carrera has an update out there that sets the CU firmware to version 5.338 (they may just call it 338). The 338 firmware is flawed. While your problem is not one I've seen reported (it involves the second and third LEDs of the CU coming on and staying on until the pace car button is pressed twice) I would be suspicious if it turns out you are running firmware 5.338.

Carrera is recommending *do not* upgrade to 5.338, and they will be releasing a new version. A CU reset will not revert the firmware, so if this is your problem, you will have to either 'downgrade' the firmware, or wait for Carrera to release their new version.

Very possible that this is *not* the cause of your problem, but still good to get the information out there about 5.338.

Sorry if this appears to be a duplicate. My other post was just flagged as 'spam' (probably too many edits) so I hope this one gets through.

In SmartRace, open Main Menu. Go to Help and Support. Information will show firmware version of CU.

Looks like you have 339! I didn't even think that was out yet. My guess is you *very* recently- maybe within the last week or less- installed the Carrera RaceApp? Or at least performed an update on your CU's firmware using the RaceApp?

Users in Germany were discussing this problem as recently as Monday night and still waiting on 339.

If you haven't performed an update of your CU's firmware- then since you are a relatively new user, I'll ask: when and where did you buy your CU? Could be new production has a firmware that hasn't been released on the update schedule yet.

I just purchased my first set in November, I haven’t done any updates so it either came this way or it’s set to automatically update by default. I’m as new as they come around here. Been busy building tables ,buying cars and buying track as it comes available. No time for updates :-)

A firmware update can only happen within the Carrera RaceApp. You would be aware of the update if it happened. It takes time, and it would have been very obvious. Which means your CU came with version 339 firmware. Where did you buy it?

Since none of the rest of us have ever seen your single LED power killing scenario- it is possible it's an artifact of the 339 firmware! But I doubt that's the case. A firmware flaw should present in a more reproducible manner than what you've described.
