  • Carrera Track Glue for Cracked Track Tabs

I ordered a box of 4/15 curves and the end of the package came open during shipping and they got rattled around inside the shipping box pretty good.

Some of the tabs got a little cracked. I think they will still hold together just fine especially with the clips. I don't think it's worth returning them.

But I'd like to try and smooth a little adhesive over the cracked parts to keep them from getting worse.

Has anyone found a specific epoxy or other glue that seems to work best for Carrera track?

This is what some of the tabs look like. Some of them obviously can't be helped with glue. But maybe the ones that have cracked but not broken any pieces off can be held together better?

Anyone think the broken tabs will cause a problem?

The only thing I've ever used with any success is JB Weld. In the past I would plastic weld but that doesn't seem to help all that much, JB Weld is my go to for track repairs.

I've been using Bob Smith Maxi Cure with accelerator for track repairs and some body repairs. Once the glue sets up, sand as needed.

I just used Dap Rapid Fuse to close a pesky gap where a corner meets a straight. Worked great.

Never heard of that stuff before. Looking forward to hearing what other guys are using with success.

Thank you guys. I might give the JB Weld a try first. I don't seem to do very good work with CA glues. Maybe I'm using them too thin and no accelerator

I have used Loctite superglue to glue broken track tabs and some custom cut Carrera track sections over the years. No problems. [My luck with superglues has been hit or miss sometimes too, but it worked great on the Carrera track]
That is a very strange way for those track tabs to have broken I have had a number of tabs break, but the whole tab always broke off.
Your broken tabs wont cause any problem, even if you don't fix them, providing the track isn't warped to begin with. I have used pieces with 2 complete tabs missing and they are fine.

Yeah, I wouldn't even bother trying to repair those. Just plug them in like usual and use the securing red sticks to lock the track pieces together and you should be good to go.
