  • Again Bruce, A big Thank You for all you do for us computer guys. Maybe once I get some steady racers coming around, I'll upgrade.

    • Bruce...Think my PC may be causing problems with the running your system with Ed's BRB. Specifically USB port communication problems causing undesired track calls.

Is there a way to transfer all the data to another computer with HSSRMS installed? Is it as simple as transferring the folder to another PC?

      • That transfer will work- if every personal file you use (photos, sounds, etc) is also contained in that folder (and sub-folders).

But just hold off. I am going to release an update in the next week or so that fixes a couple minor annoyances I have found that may fix your issue. It will include a check during any start light pause that will remove any future requests for a pause. Meaning someone will have to push a BRB, or press the space bar, or squeeze the lane change button (for those using the arduino feature) after the race re-starts in order to pause it again.

Yesterday while running some 25 lap races against the ghost, I had several occurrences where (strictly using the arduino w/lane change button to pause the race), it would immediately pop the start lights a second time on restart. The issue turned out to be with the arduino (needed a restart), but it manifested by popping the start lights.

Not quite sure what you mean- no sounds have ever been removed. If you click the box for Microsoft voice, you might have the choice of a female or male computer generated voice. The pre-recorded sounds are still there if you don't click the box.

Bruce... I will wait as you have stated. I to have been getting that "popping" issue. Have had the problem with both running ghost cars by myself or having 2-3 racers going 20+ laps or more. I have just kind of thought that I have too much going on with USB communications as I have lots going on with USB connections.

My thought has been maybe it is just time for a nice clean fresh start on my computer. Thinking changing over from a HDD to SSD and updating to Win10 over the Win7. I frequently have to reset the USB connection... Disable/Enable in device manager to get the software to find the device/track.

Will wait to see what your update brings.

              Thanks again,

              TRU

              • Hey Bruce,

What do you think of this? Since you are tinkering with Arduino I thought I would ask. I have see some arduino sketches in github related to lapcounter and startlight. Looks like an arduino nano can be fit into that box. Unsure if the nano can be powered from the track tails or if it needs a separate power source. https://www.ebay.de/itm/184651248566...MAAOSwhJNf8JCe

                • Version 2.502 is now up. Fixes various visual/interface annoyances, and addresses possible multiple track calls resulting from a single track stoppage.

Here is an update on running your update.

When using the BRB arduino... It appears an error is being thrown with pop up. "List Index Out of Bounds (-1)" There also can be, but not always, be a 2-5 second delay before the call button stops the race. Will test more in the next day or two.

                        • Hello Bruce,

I'm new to this whole hobby and loving it. I just had one question, is there a bug with the PT snyc? When I have the PT setting to be ignored it functions fine but doesn't count laps, and if I put the PT setting to be in either one of the synced modes it's starts acting up. The tower will show the driver in first and count laps fine but second place on the tower always shows '8." it's almost as if the pace car overwrites the second place position. I did notice that if you have a ghost car the fourth place will always show a "7" even if you let it get ahead of you. Maybe I have a setting wrong in hssrms?

                          • I've never gotten the tower to work properly. I no longer have a functioning tower, so it isn't even possible for me to test it any longer.
