  • Unavailable Carrera parts

I'm always checking Carrera's website for parts for Carrera cars and it's always saying they are not available. I went ahead and shot for the moon and contacted them asking why can't dealers (Bruce thinking of you on this one) get any parts even for the current cars. Within a day I got the German automated response which translated to someone will contact you shortly.

Surprisingly Beth from Carrera of America contacted me the next day asking what parts I was looking for and the part numbers if I had them. That was a good sign. We'll see what happens after the holiday weekend for a response. Not saying I will get anything but it was nice to know someone was listening.

I bought 4 Nascar COT chassis and 4 sets of axles from Carrera this week.

If the shop is an authorized dealer they can get parts. The shop I work at gets parts for people all the time. It's just annoying and shipping from Carrera sucks. So many shops don't deal with it.

I've had a couple of talks with Bruce at Cincy Slots a few times about parts and he's told me he has had a hard time getting parts even for the Ford Gt that's been out awhile. He's said he's ordered rockers and axles for cars but can't get them.

It does seem like popular cars have a harder time with parts. My guess is Carrera America "refurbishes" returned cars and uses up the parts. I've had that theory for a while because I've been able to look at cars we've gotten in and seen they have obviously been run more then testing in china.

Why else would parts for less popular cars be readily available but popular cars like the GT and the DTM cars be hard to get. You could say because the cars are more popular but that would mean some shop or shops somewhere would have parts but nobody does so it's not like some shop is hording.

Exactly.... On the D124 cars the rocker arm (Swing arm) is predominately #85372. It is used on almost ALL cars made today. It is also used as an upgrade on older cars for better handling. A year or so ago everyone had them. Try and find one today. Even Euro sources have started to dry up with one showing up occasionally so there is no hording going on. I know parts are not on all retailers list but the suppliers that normally keep them in stock don't have them. Carrera Slots is another good example, they list the parts they normally carry but have no due date for restocking.
