Okay, I worked the prongs in the 2 cars that were running headlights only when in motion and...it worked! So, I have a fully functional set at this point since I did a trade with Kidvoltage on the one lemon. Given my amateur efforts here, it may well be that even that one is in better shape than I thought, though it did have some other problems. One of the controllers had some dead spots in it, but I was able open it and bend those prongs to make it work properly.

The only remaining oddity in my set is the one piece of track in the pit lane that should have the "ES" to complete "BOXES" doesn't have those 2 letters, but does have the "slow down" markings on the other side.

That is a known (yet minor) issue in that some of the pit tracks have "BOXES" spelled out and some don't. It probably was a decision by SCX @ some point to make any recent production runs without it but yet they still inadvertantly mixed the batch of tracks.

Overall, I don't think it's a big deal because @ some point you'll probably expand the pit lane and then you'll have "BOX" and "ES" on opposite sides of the pits which makes even less sense.

I looked for that "ES" piece for a couple of years, when adding our 2nd pit row lane. Finally found one to acquire. Now, months later - there are several + listed on the 'Bay... Just an aesthetic issue, as said above - both track pieces work the same.... Glad your up & running !
