Well the 24 Hours of Tacoma are done for another year.

I am still recovering from a lack of sleep, plus we are catching up on orders received while the Event was on.

I will post the results later today ( hopefully) along with the News announced at the Event.
Also photos I was able to take while Race Directing and joint running the Live Feed on YouTube and racing with ScaleRacing Allstars with my daughter and her boyfriend and Davide from BRM.

What a weekend, some very competitive racing in the Sprints and the feature Event The 24 Hours of Tacoma.

The first Sprint race was RevoSlot GT2. This race was on the 8 lane track, 3 minutes per lane. With one sit out.

Taking the win was my daughter Julia.
    Second was Slotbutton from Canada.
    Third Brandon from Mission MCAF.

    Flower 164 laps.
    Slotbutton 163 laps.
    Slicer 158 laps.
    Tony D 156 laps.
    Flea 151 laps.
    Stan Smith 144 laps.
    Jake 143 laps.
    DJ 140 laps.
    Damien 134 laps.
This race was for stock tires, you can true, no magnets only set up, gear mesh allowed. No modified chassis, tape or front tire hardening.

Next race up BRM Mini Cars and Group 2 raced. This was on the 8 lane with 9 drivers so one sit out, 3 minute heats. These cars race stock, including tires. You can true tires, loctite screws
and generally make sure things move freely. Stock BRM gears are used, here we find them excellence and see no failures at all.

Dwayne won this race, I was second and Roger Clark took third.

The full race was 19 racers with 2 heats of 3 minutes on the 8 lane.

        Here is the complete result:

        Dwayne 174 laps.
        COYS 171 laps + 11 sections.
        Roger Clark 171 laps + 8 sections.
        Ramjet 168 laps + 18 sections.
        Davide 168 laps + 3 sections.
        Hot Dog 167 laps.
        Cartnick 164 laps.
        Viper Mike 162 laps.
        Flower 160 laps + 15 sections.
        Slotbutton 160 laps + 2 sections.
        El Guapo 158 laps.
        Stan Smith 157 laps.
        Flea 152 laps + 17 sections.
        Tony D 152 laps + 11 sections.
        Slicer 151 laps.
        Roy 148 laps.
        DJ 145 laps.
        Enrico ( BRM ) 141 laps.
        Damien 140 laps.

Friday was back to building and testing the cars till 2.00pm.

Then BRM and ScaleRacing showed the prototypes of the new cars they are planning for 2023 release together. GT40 anyone? 1:24th Scale of course.

There are 3 versions planned, these are the first 2. We expect to have these available for sale in the Summer 2023.

Also the GT 40 Mark I and Mark II

            image_56080.jpgGT40markII.jpg

Then we went into a change in schedule. Due to time constraints we moved the Trans Am race and carried on with the McLaren F1GTR IROC Race.
With 29 entrants this was going to take a while.

A great big thank you to Alan and family for an absolute blast of a weekend. And it really was a full-on family affair with Dad organising, managing and driving, daughter and son driving and Mom working tirelessly providing sustenance.

A big part of my enjoyment of the event was meeting up with old friends after a three year break. Great to see everybody looking fit and no older than in 2019 (yeah, right... )

Totally agree, with the Smith family. It was great meeting everyone and racing in that type of environment for the first time. You guys made me feel welcome. Will not make it next year, headed to Italy, but 2024 looks promising.

This allowed 45 minutes for the 24 Hours of Tacoma Cars to do a little more testing before Technical Inspection and then qualifying.
Qualifying was held on the 8 lane, one minute per Team one driver.

The track and lane was not announced before qualifying to prevent drivers becoming experts on that track and lane.

The lane chosen was lane 6.

This allowed for choice of lane for the start. With 9 Teams entered after several Teams lost drivers due to illness.

We also allocated corner positions for both tracks. This was decided by when the Teams entered the Event.
As we will be promoting this starting after I finalize this post watch is space. The new Entry date and Entry link will be posted here soon.

                    So back top qualifying.

First up was Team BAR with Roger qualifying time 6.752. Start Lane 1.
Next Team IDK with Trevor Smith qualifying time 6.902. Start Lane 4.
Next EMSA with Pat qualifying time 6.681. Start Lane 7.
Next Oregon Donors / BC qualifying time 6.983. Start Lane 8.
Next Mission MCAF qualifying time 7.238. Start Lane 5.
Next ScaleRacing Allstars qualifying time 6.648. Start Lane 9.
Next Can Am qualifying time 6.868. Start Lane 6.
Next Husky Racing qualifying time 6.937. Start Lane 2.
Last up Funhouse racing qualifying time 7.101. Start Lane 3.

After another full day of racing and testing it was agreed we would forgo the Trans Am race and let Racers get some rest for the challenge of the 24 Hours of Tacoma that would start Saturday at 10.00 am.
