But seriously, what other reason is there? The only other reason I can think of is to meet a racing requirement of some kind, in which case those requirements will help you.

If you're asking about other brands, you really do owe yourself the treat of at LEAST one ScaleAuto 1/24 car, and maybe a BRM as well.
No problem with the chassis on Carrera track Bruce?

I'm Greg, but I'm sure any of the Bruces on here I'm aware of would agree that there is no problem with pretty much any car on Carrera track. BRM run quite nicely. If you feel the need for a bit more grip, I can recommend the ScaleAuto ProComp foam rubber tires (which come on wheels) as an upgrade. Be sure to get the ScaleAuto Tire Cleaner (not the tire glue) to treat them. When properly treated, they grip most plastic track AS IF there were glue. But, the stock tires are already pretty good, IMHO. No magnet for traction assistance, though. If you need that, you'll need to add your own.

I’m pretty happy with a ScaleAuto Home Series chassis that I put under a Braha friction car body. Chassis is stock except for Paul Gage urethane tires. Home Series cars are about half the price of the full tilt ScaleAuto cars and much simpler.
Alan says a new stock of these are arriving in the future.
I will add that I run my 1/24 cars at 12 volts. The Carreras have had the motors changed out to Auto Art.

Yeah, I reckon there's consensus on that.

I've heard great things about the Home series cars. Wish I had one..

Scaleauto home series aren't worth the money IMHO, if you want Scaleauto or BRM give Alan a call at 132slotcar.

BRM has so many choices depending on your wants Group C, GT1, Trans Am, Classic 512/917, Mini cars....

So many great 1/24 choices, all can be raced on Carrera, as long as they are all running the same tyres

                  Yes.
It appears you can use the Scalextric or Carrera chip.
