Top of the class sir Bov, ready carefully, it's Paul's shout....
The Downs would be the #1 place to get up close and personal with cars and legends.
Amon was there that year as well, out from hiding on his deer farm.
Was looking at some early GP cars, and a voice come from half underneath one, hey can you pass me the big spanner with..... ended up being tool man
Was leaving the pits with a mate and a guy is sitting in a Lotus with no support crew around him - "hey can you give me a push" .....
we started two cars before we made a hasty exit, as we thought we might get a full time job among all the amateur drivers
Also the year that "Custaxie" was reborn
And the obligatory swarm of nearly 50 F5000s making "land thunder"

I only had pics of the topless versions of the Thunderslot inspirations. .... but by golly, you could near step over some of them without tweaking you groin muscles.
Dinner for two at the Ritz with WetCoast if you can guess who the white haired guy is driving around
- ps Paul, I just thought up the prize - over to you to pay for it

Funny, I've also got photos of a yellow Lola coupe., I'll go search for it, check the number, see if it's the same car.
Rich, "overall", height doesn't mean much for the "tops" height dimensions.
In reality, I really don't care like many here do. As long as the body is cleanly done, if it's a little low, wide, stickers and decals in the wrong place, again, I don't care. I was just making an observation to the comment above mine, and the look of the body.
There's no..."oh my God, that bolt head is outta place"...you won't find me saying any of that.
Mike
P.s. - Nope, the yellow Lola that I have shots of is, #55, white-red-white stripe front to rear. Nicely restored.Last edited by Mike-; 04-19-2020, 06:59 AM.
