  • Slot Rally Cars

Slot Rally is popular at our club, we cater for standard and modified cars.

Standard class means the only things we can change are the tyres and add ballast and add body float. Our Standard classes are for cars with plastic wheels and solid chassis and working lights if originally fitted.

I got this today for our Standard 'Other' Classic class. 'Other' being not SCX, Ninco or Scalextric.

Scaleauto DeTomaso Pantera 1976 rally. In the early 80s a black one was entered in the Manx Rally a couple of times.

Kevan, having seen your rally track there I figured you would appreciate a look at Luf's hillclimb.

Yes I've watched many videos of action on that track, a Rally car would be at home on it...if it had a loop at the bottom end too you could do numerous laps.

This was a beast in Standard class, better than most of the Open class cars

I'm curious. How does Luf handle the polarity reversal for the return trip down the hill. Does it actually switch when exiting the loop at the top of the track, or is the track power AC and the car have a diode?

I'm willing to bet it's an automatic polarity reverser like the model train people do with their loops. We sell them at the hobby shop.

From memory, I believe that's exactly what he did.
