ProSlot -- what IS the story?

I've searched around the web to no avail -- what IS the story with ProSlot's 1/32 stuff? I'd known ProSlot for quite a while as a purveyor of good stuff in the 1/24th slot world, but then along came the 1/32 cars with the same name and logo: Porsche GT2s, Toyota GTOnes, whatever. Bodies ranging from the so-so to the dreadful potato-chip Toyotas, great motors, very simple chassis. Then ZIP -- no more 1/32 cars. Where did they come from? Where did they go? Will they ever be back?

Anybody know?

Bart - I did a quick Google for ProSlot Slovenia and found this interesting website:

Just click on ProSlot...though it seems they only offer 1/24th competition cars, motors, etc. - nothing on 1/32nd scale.

There is an e-mail address on the ProSlot site, why not ask them? The Toyota looks a little toy-like and the gears in mine were junk, but with SlotLine wheels and Slot.it axles, gears and tires it runs very well.

Bart - I don't recall all the details, though there was a thread running on this very subject a little while ago; but my understanding is that the ProSlot 1/24 "Pro" stuff is still being produced and marketed and going strong, while the ProSlot 1/32 is now defunct, deceased, no more ...

However, you might want to take a peak at this here Monarch Lines page, as it appears they still have a fair amount of product:

pro slot is a 1/24 U.S. company. Their 1/32s were imports of Italian plastic chassis rtrs.

I think that after the 1/32 part folded, professor motor bought up the loose parts and stock and still assembles bits into cars.

Well, here's the ProSlot story direct from the stable:

I've always wanted to get a few Pro Slot cars to tinker with but I can never find a good shot of one with the body off. Do the Vintage F1s use a standard Mabutchi motor or some oddball sized can?

I didn't know ProSlot made any vintage F1s...

In some circles they are known as Policar vintage F1's.

These were done under the Policar name, and at best they are crude.

I hate to be negative with any slot product as it is certainly better than no product.

However these cars leave a lot to be desired, also under the Policar label were the plain versions of a lot of the Proslot cars, I love the GT2 and 3 Porsche, especially the price.

Switch to some Slot.it rear wheels and gears and you have a great entry level Slot Car.

I'd like to add that while these cars don't offer much on the detail front, they might have the best stock rubber of any car ever yet offered. Change to a brass pinion is highly recommended. I have had at least 3 Modenas, 5 GT2s, 5 GT3, 3 Toyota GT1s, 2 Alfa Romeos and a Ferrari F-1. All were great racers and with a little work gave any car by EVERY other manufacturer a run for the money. I should add that I am talking about without magnets. The Toyota's have yet to be caught by ANYTHING in no mag racing.

Agree 100% Fix the pinion, glue rear wheels and sometimes you need to change that stupid stub axle on the front but for non magnet racing those EVO 3 and 4 motors with good brakes great soft compound tyres and light body make excellent racers.

On a smooth track you can sometimes even get away with no weight in the cars.
