Are there any inventory programs out there? If not how do y'all keep track of stuff, cars, motors etc?

    It's all in my brain ... I think ...

For those who are more computer motivated than me, I believe Excel is a favourite filing system.

It will be interesting to see what other ideas people have these days.

There was a slot car inventory program called Slotcars 2000 on the now defunct HO Slot Car Racing site. The site is still available in part via Wayback Machine, but the link to Slotcars 2000 does not work.
Ultimate Racer includes software to keep track of your cars.
If you have Microsoft Excel it would be easy enough to create your own inventory.

Forgot I have Ultimate Racer! But I downloaded Slot Car 2000 and I like it better.

            Thanks all for your input.

I use Excel because I sometimes like to sort/organize my list based on different criteria. Plus, I'm just more familiar with Excel so it's my "go to" program.

I hate excel and never bothered to figure it out - despite me being an analyst - because MS software sucks and I can do it all in Python Pandas. Pandas are awesome.

As everyone else noted, I use a spreadsheet. I chose Google Sheets because it's easy to access from multiple devices.

I spent a bunch of time looking for cataloging database programs. Datacrow, Recollector, and GCstar are some examples. I would really like to have something like this, but I didn't have the energy to try to build a custom configuration. And they all seemed like they didn't really do what I wanted.

I want a database to keep track of the components used on each car. Like chassis #7 has an RT-HO front end, while #5 has a Wizzard. So I would need a Wizzard front end database object, that is included in the parts list in chassis #5. That's not really the same type of database as a coin or stamp or CD collection. Being able keep track of this stuff would be cool, but there is a reason why Larry Ellison of Oracle owns an entire Hawaiian island. It takes a lot of work to build a useful database.
