Paul, I'm loving those Lexan McLaren & Lola T-70 bodies! When is somebody going to produce these in plastic or cast-resin for the Mega G chassis , along with the top competitor from 1965, the Chaparral 2? Oh, G-A-R-Y (Fast).........!

What is the wheelbase on those? BHR also offers mounting clips for several chassis. He's got a bunch of stuff listed on ebay right now:

Brian asked him to take some downforce off the front of the car (to lighten the steering). The car subsequently flipped over a rise, and crashed upside down off the track, severely injuring him, and putting him out for the season. I think it was this car body.........

C_Spray, thanks for clarifying. I followed the first Can Am series from 1966 to the year Shadow won a shortened series ( in I think 1973). The Formula 5000 and subsequent renaming of the series to "Can Am" wasn't on my radar. I had to learn subsequently of Haas & Hall's success with Brian Redmond in F-5000 after the fact.....

74 was the last year for the "original" Can Am . A friend and I were lucky enough to be at Watkins Glen for the FG1 race and got to see the Can Am "demonstration" race between Oliver and Follmer in the DN-4 Shadows . Even though there were only the two of them they put on quite a show . The acceleration they showed coming off of Turn 1 through the dip and up into the Esses was beyond impressive .

P.S. don't ever , ever , ever make the mistake of being caught standing with your back about 4 feet from the back of an M20 when they fire it off . You may end up sort of laying on top of the other car you were looking at at that moment ...
