  • Various Porsche 917-10’s. Some completed, some not yet completed. The all white version will eventually be completed as the Brumos #59. I’m still not certain what I’m going to do with the white/blue #9.

Is the white/blue #9 car made by AFX? Is the white car just a repaint of the basic AFX car or is there somebody selling these bodies? I thought the square front version was harder to find.

I also add scratch built mirrors to all my bodies. And lastly, I apply two coats of Pledge acrylic floor polish to protect the bodies for racing. Although these are mostly parade cars since I would go nuts if they got damaged.
They all look great. I guess the floor polish helps explain why the red Ferrari and the blue Porsche seem to shine and reflect the light so well!

        • Since we lost a lot of photos when SCI crashed, I'd thought I would repost these. Originally this was an AFX McLaren M8b that I stretched out and made a resin body of it. This is sitting on a Tyco Pan chassis with the LWB configuration. I may have to bring this back if it fits the newest 1.7" chassis.

Look close and you'll see a face inside the helmet!!!

The white/blue is actually a Jag hobbies body/DR-3 chassis combination also available in other color combinations. The AFX “square nose” is a repaint and will be detailed and finished in the Brumos “famous 59” livery once the paint is finally cured.

              • I can FINALLY add something new to a thread I created years ago, and has had a lot of contributors to: my pair of BHR Lexan Lola T-70's:

Both Lolas (and the Ferrari 612 in the far right picture) are mounted on "Bulldog" chassis; the Papya Orange McLaren is on a BSRT chassis........
