What on earth are you talking about? I've never, on this forum or anywhere else, claimed to have a beef with Lewis Hamilton.

I've never been an internet troll either, I wouldn't stoop that low.

Family money has been getting drivers into top motorsport as long as it has existed.
So what's your point? Wealth doesn't equate to ability, or fame, or whatever. It just buys some drivers a chance to race with the big boys. You know, guys like Lewis Hamilton. For instance.

      • Right. F1 has always taken a lot of money to get into, and luck.

Just as with Stroll, Mazapin and Latifi have skill, despite the money. Mazapin in fact won as many feature races in F2 last year as the eventual champion, who is also only in F1 because of money and who his father is.

I'm claiming you do. And that is fine, and common.

          • Best Monaco race in years. I am of the opinion that good racing should outweigh historic consideration, so Monte Carlo should be deleted from the calendar. I know it is a minority opinion. Azerbaijan, and Singapore also offer poor racing without historic context, and are also on F1 calendar.
Brundel and Krofty spoke of this. Brundel asked why race at tracks without passing, Krofty responded with " to test themselves across a wide varieties of challenges." (paraphrase). While perhaps true, not a satisfying answer for me.

Last year had some of the best racing because most of the tracks were better suited for passing. I wish the next race was back in the Tyrolian hills. It seems to me to represent Europe better than Azerbijian.

            • You thought last Sunday was the best Monaco in years?

We never see any racing at Monaco. Which is why I feel it should be struck from the calendar. We saw Max cover Bottas at the begining of the race and Vettle coming out of the pits close to two others ( and the director cut away). We saw differing pit stop strategies come out in full view, which revealed a rare flaw at Mercedes. And this summarizes the entire race at Monaco which are two more things that I can name from memory since Red Bull called in Ricardo without being prepared. So best race in years. It is a small hurdle to get over as parade tracks are awful for real racing.

                    • If rumours are true it may be the last as the contract that Bernie brokered came to an end this year and they're paying peanuts compared to other hosts.

Thanks? Sorry to intrude, this seemed to be the most appropriate place as it seems the lot of you know a lot more about this than me.

No worries, but although he sounds familiar as anything, I can't put a name to the voice. The other commentator is former F1 racer Karun Chandhok. Anybody else got a guess?

                              • After a couple hours googling and watching clips I finally figured it out: Toby Moody

Why? Because of all the announcers I've heard in a long time, I like him best. I grew up listening to the fairly low key Jim McKay on US tv - and Toby gets going and calls the action with the enthusiasm of a horse race announcer from an Abbot and Costello movie. He reminds me of Sir Jackey, but of course without Stewart's technical experience in the sport. I really like him and especially enjoy the way he works with the team at LeMans
