    The could of made the penalty Max got for the games before the collision just big enough to drop him to third place.

    This would ensure that the final race will still very probably be winner-takes-all, but stops Max from trying a Senna or Prost move.
    It's a long time since I agreed 100% with one of your posts but definitely with you on this.

    If captain chaos decides a senna takeout, the WDC will be decided by the Spa farce two laps behind the safety car 'race' win.

    • No championship is decided by any one race or incident.

      Come Sunday, lots of fans will be trying to sell the idea it does, from one camp or the other, and ignoring loads of other events - but it isn't so.

              Spa created a swing of 7 points towards Max. Maybe nothing, since he may of won a 'real' race anyway.

              7 points is less than 2% of his current points total.

              • F1 2021 WDC will be decided by one race whether you like it or not. If neither finish then Max is WDC, if either or both finish its which one gets more points than the other in the last race who will be WDC. Everything else that's happened up to now is largely irrelevant.

                  I knew why Max slowed because they told him too. Then Lewis hit him and questioned why and they told Lewis then that Max was to let him by. It seems that simple. They DRS zone etc is why I suppose Max did it immediately.

                  FIA should communicate this to both teams simultaneously.

                  • This track would be so much better in the middle of nowhere. The track layout is fantastic, but needs runoff area without walls. The banked turn is needed at other tracks too. The track is just too unsafe as is. The barriers worked great this time but I cringe to revisit this track annually.

                      And ban teams giving the place back what Max's team were referring to as 'strategically'.

                        Ah, I get what you mean now, but you are still wrong, for several reasons.

                        The cars, the drivers, the team personnel, are all tired. That will be possible be a relevant factor.

                        The events up to now put Max ahead in the points table, which could he hugely significant.

                        The events up to now put Max is on a lot of penalty points, but Lewis is in an even more precarious position. Plus he probably won't resort to some of things Max likely would. They aren't equal.

                          All of that means nothing - once the stewards have decided who's won on Sunday it's all over and decided.

                              • They should give it back as soon as possible, but not on the approach to any DRS detection zones.

                                This will prevent Max cheating his way ahead of Lewis, and then giving the place back in a way designed to re-take under DRS.
