The better question is should F1 be racing in Russia, China, the middle east etc.

I don't understand what you mean.

Liberty are American. They have spoken about bringing in fake things to spice up 'the show', things I am not in favour of. I'm not ranting, merely pointing out my opinion on reverse grids and the like

I think I can make a strong case that major American sports care about the show.

What exactly are US members of SCI having to 'put up with' when I say that? Mightn't some of them agree with my opinions? Even if they don't how does my expressing of these opinion affect them more than, say, somebody from France?

If somebody posted here about British teams or drivers in some form, this would not affect me at all.

Sports/entertainment may seem like trivial things (compared to fuel/food etc), but if you take these small pleasures from people they will feel the pain. Tell someone that they have to eat baloney sandwiches instead of steak for a while and they're not going to like it, but they'll get by. Take away their football or motor racing and now we're talking about an entire new kind of hurt.

The statement by F1 media does not clearly say it will be cancelled. The new agencies such as BBC, Sky, ESPN, ect. are reporting based upon more detailed discussions that it has been cancelled.

The FIA Formula 1 World Championship visits countries all over the world with a positive vision to unite people, bringing nations together.

We are watching the developments in Ukraine with sadness and shock and hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to the present situation.

On Thursday evening Formula 1, the FIA, and the teams discussed the position of our sport, and the conclusion is, including the view of all relevant stakeholders, that it is impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix in the current circumstances.
