1/24 AMT Lola T70

This is a build of a 1/24 AMT Lola T70 kit from 1966. It was missing a few bits, so some needed to be made, or found in the parts bin.

While it is a fantasy livery, the inspiration for the colour came from a customer McLaren M12 that ran in selected CanAm races in 1970/71, and was sponsored by the "Great Western Champagne" company.......the paint used on the model is Tamiyas' "Champagne" gold.

The wheels are not original..... they are Russkit's Lola wheels, and are 1 piece cast aluminium.....they are gorgeous!!!

I ran out of edit time on the above,.......here is a pic. of the finished chassis.

Several modifications have been made that were typical for the time.

I can see the pic in the second post, but not the first. Refresh, re log in, click on the pic, none works.

Well, it appears that an admin has approved that first post again (thanks).

But the images still ain't happening for me.

If you edit, please be sure to wait for that 'Working ... ' box at the top to go out before making a change.

I wonder what you did differently with these images, rather than that excellent picture that follows.

To all Member, please if you wish to have images show in your posts upload them from a URL ( meaning it is already on the Web )
Or use the Upload attachment and load them to the SCI Server.
This way images really are easy to load and manage..
Please do not try to copy and paste a post from somewhere else as the Site software will see this as a potential SPAM attack and lock the post.

Chris amazing work as usual. You Sir are an artist!!! Love the look and if you click on the images you can see them in full size. These were saved to the psot as medium, which is enough to get people interested.

Chris, Don't know if this will be read or replied to, here goes. Great work!! I admire expert craftmanship. I have a question. There was another expert builder. His name I believe was Jerrod (?). He was also a graphic illustrator. I believe he lived in Washington state. I can not find an email link to again view his cars (it has been a very long time). Hello Victor,......There are plenty of skilled builders around !!!..........I think you may be thinking of Jairus Watson, he builds mainly vintage type stuff, and, unfortunately, you will not find any of his work here......he hangs out at another Forum. Rather than get into trouble for mentioning other sites, I will send you a private message.
