  • Aston Martin DB5 convertible 1964

Hi guys. Here's another of my projects. This time I thought an open grand tourer would be a nice idea with the DB5 convertible being the grandest of them all. It's built in the same way as the DB4 so i'll let the photographs do the talking. I hope you like what you see.

    Regards, Graham.

Can you imagine what the slot car world would look like if we HAD to build our cars using balsa wood?

This is how it was done years ago. Great craftsmanship.

That is truely amazing! If I tried to do that it would look like a block of wood with wheels.

                  Excellent!

                          Hi

Fifties technology! When I made my first scratch body, I had been flying control line models for a few years. One of the older guys had showed me a technique of carving the balsa, then covering it with discarded woman's nylons. You do cross layers and it "fuses" together when buterate Dope is applied. Makes a hard thin nylon shell.

So, all excited...........My mom got really upset when she found me fishing her nylons with "runs" in them out of the trash!

It's moved on a little further. A bit more detail to show. Glad you all like it.
