• Next series at Clover Leaf Raceway

I wanted to start a separate thread so that this does not get mixed up with what we are running right now. The next series will be Scaleauto 1/24 cars and it looks like Trans-Am 1/32 cars. I have put down some basic rules nothing is definite yet just some ideas. If you have any input and plan on racing in this series please let me know.

    Scaleauto cars

You can make a model kit version of a GT car that is not available by Scaleauto, like a Corvette. It must have a Scaleauto chassis under it.
You can use a Carrera body on a Scaleauto chassis.
Any motor that is or has been available in a Scaleauto 1/24
Tires Silicone coated Scaleauto foam tires. My suggestions are, 15x11s with 1007s, 08's,09s, 2112s. That way we stay way from the R series tires. 15x10s will never fit. Lexan interiors, slot it gearing & bearings, 20k motors or less. Or slot it orange end bell only. ( everyone has at lease 10 or more in their box).

Would the Scaley Ford Falcon Moffet car be eligible?

The 1/24 cars, I know nothing about, so want to hear from the guys that do.

Let's hear from others!!! Thanks Rob

What Mike has listed is fine with me. With the exception of allowing 15x11's as Rob suggested. :thumb:

Dont let anybody (Wickham) sneak any of the Racer Silverline Porsche 911's in there ! No podded cars!

Why you guys always pickin' on me?

Will 11's fit under Trans-Am cars? (They fit under my 911)

They do under my Camaro - with 1007s without the bulging sidewalls. The tires that fit the15x10s end up being wider because of the sidewall . And they look 20psi low.

Listen Mister what are the rules? But I never read them!!! We are surprised you show up with the right cars. Your new name is DQ Dave! We ran a series not to long ago with 15x11s, so people should have these already to go. :help:

I guess I may just break down and buy my first 1/24.
Been puttin it off because ya cant drive them on home tracks and I will have to now stock two scales of spares but they are beautiful cars and drive great.

For transam, the scaley mustangs have a hard time fitting 15x11's.
1402/1403 fit everything, be it 15x8 or 15x10.
Since we're thowing things out there, how bout everyone run an orange end bell?
I am all for a spec. motor if that is what everyone want to do. The last time I said something like that I got so much back lash that I did not think anybody wanted to do that. Since Red Rider racing has not chimed in I do not think it will be a problem this time. I am not sure if Ralphy, and Randy may have shot their eye out.:rolleyes:

John I do not understand why you think you can not run them on home tracks. They are no bigger than Carrera 1/24 cars and people run them on Ninco and Carrera tracks.

I meant to add to the first post that I will be offering a 42.00 gift shop credit to any one who pre buys the full eight week series. so if you plan on racing most of the races any way you would be ahead of the game after three races. This will help some of the guys who do not have a 1/24 car or a Trans-Am car. I plan on doing this from now on, it has worked out pretty well at the store. If you have any questions let me know.
                      Mike

Orange endbells and 15x11s are fine with me. I dont think 11s will fit under my Cortina though and I think it takes a FF motor . . .

Rather have a rpm limit than orange endbells , as all my orange endbells have sloppy bushings on the bell end .

Yeah - what he said . Most the U class cars can't fit S cans. .

Spec motor might be a bad idea at that, now that John has his new fancy dancey motor tester dodad, he can take his pick of the litter and spit us out an not look back... Am I jealous? Absolutely.....
