First awesome race, with big congrats to first place winner The Hazzard Boys and to everyone involved with the Slot Car Racers Giving Back charity, the donations totaled well over $1,000.00, more to come on that from AlmaFan 55 who did an awesome job cooridanting the entire charity event, lots of prize winners.

The cars and parts were created on a spreadsheet by team and will be posted once the SCC Team can gets home and has a a bit of rest.

Teams ran Slot.it, NSR, Mr Slot Car, Scaleauto, Quick Slicks, Slot Corner Corner, Professor Motor, Slot Car Corner Canada, Super Tires, etc... cars and parts

Not at all surprised that they could take the fight to the SCC team. I used to race those guys. and they're among the best there are! Zoom, they ran great all weekend...They showed a lot of class in how they went about their business and when a team member was sick, they didn't lose their cool or composure, they just kept racing. Image being at a race for 33 hours and losing a team member which meant one less marshall and pit stop person to rotate with.

They also ran an interesting gear ratio which will be posted in the post race report card from SCC who managed the race times, results, and equipment usage.

Well done Christian for putting the numbers up so quickly, I'm guessing some of you guys must be pretty wiped by now - that's a lot of miles, one way and another. :nod:

A great event, it takes a lot of effort by a lot of people to make something like this happen for five consecutive years, and I get the feeling this is gonna continue for some time to come.

The name of the winning team changed along the way.

At first, it was Hazzard Boys (in reference to the Dukes of Hazzard, of course!). Then, during the night racing, it became Dixie Chicks. Then, when Dickie came back from its 24-hour bug, someone changed it again to Dickie's Chicks. And it was time for this race to end because it was quickly becoming something like Chicks with D... :tape:

Now, let's see which name gets immortalized on the Ken Brown Memorial Trophy!! :first:

I got back home here in Québec QC around 5PM, after a long trek home with my buddies Pascal and Georges, with a sleep break in Oshawa.

It's great to hear from you and thanks for the kind words! We had a great time at the event and feel fortunate to come away with the win against the competition there. It was a great event with lots of good times and memories.

Man, I don't even know where to begin. This weekends event was incredible and I feel blessed to have been a part of it. It was an awesome race with lots of fun, laughter and joking around but with incredible competition.

I personally want to thank Mike Stott and the Cloverleaf club for once again putting on a great event. I can't even fathom opening up your home to about thirty guys to basically live there from Friday through Sunday evening and being responsible for feeding us, managing a 30 plus hour race event and handling all the stuff that goes on with the event. Awesome job guys!

There are so many folks to thank I hope I don't forget anyone. A big thanks to Steve Sawtelle of SCC and Mike (Smokieo) for the help with the Quick Slick silicone tires. As we've mentioned before, we don't race silicone tires so it's always a tricky thing for us when we have to prepare them for a race. Couldn't have done it without their help. Also a big thanks to Rob (forgot last name at moment) for putting together the charity fund raising portion of the event. Rob is loud and obnoxious at times with a ridiculous amount of redneck jokes to prod me with but has a heart the size of Texas and does a great job with the charity fund raising. I believe there was close to $1500 raised for various charities!

I also want to thank many of the folks at the event. As you've read, Dickie ended up sick and was MIA for all of Saturday and we had only four teammates to race, corner marshal, and pit with. Our team was approached by many other team members who offered to help us with marshal duties, pitting or anything else we needed during the race. That is first class guys, thank you so much. I'd bet many other forms of competition wouldn't have that level of generosity, especially to the team that was leading the race! This just reaffirms that were in a great hobby with great people. There were times when guys like Fumey and Kurt Moser just went and jumped in where we were supposed to marshal without even being asked. Numerous members of the SCC team came to us and offered to help if we needed anything while we were leading! What a class act that group is! Man, I hate that Dickie missed a portion of the event but thanks to him for the equipment advice and help preparing for the race. He even showed up and put in some strong runs for us on Sunday! He can join our team anytime!

It was a wonderful event with great racing, comrodery, ferocious competition and just a great time. I'm thankful to have participated and don't even know how to describe winning there. This win is high on my list of slot car achievements and it means a lot to have our team name on the Ken Brown memorial trophy. I hope Ken was looking in on us and happy to have his name on such a cool event.

It was a fantastic event again, with some of the closest racing we've had all through the field. Great effort by the Hazzard Boys to pull off the win -- very well deserved! :thumb:


We can't thank Mike, Art, and the other Cloverleaf guys enough for putting this on. Keeping 30+ people well-fed all weekend is no small feat, not to mention all the other work and organization needed to prepare.
