Hello All,
Well it finally happened!!! On a cold dark evening in December something occurred that, well, for someone thought may not come for a while. But for some of us we knew it was going to happen and was only a matter of time. Some say it was due to home track advantage and others say he was just in the zone. But whatever the reason DON W won his first race. Way to go Big Worm on running a great race.
From the moment the flag dropped on Don's run on the red lane you knew something good was happening. Don ran steady, fast, and fast, and fast, while staying in the slot. Yup, as many of us know if you stay in the slot you will do well. Don followed up his 22 laps on red (which was the best of the evening) with a 20 on white (tide a few others), 21 on blue (best for that lane) and finished off in yellow with a 21which was also the best time of the evening. Don completed the evening with 84.29 laps, blowing away the field by 4 laps.
I think Don was working late nights in the basement on that Red Ferrari 512. That car was truly hooked up. It was fast stayed in the slot and was straight as an arrow. All attributes required in order to beat some of the best racers in the NJ, NY and PA area. Well after ready this Don's head must be bigger than the moon, but remember Don you get the honor of a 30 second penalty during the next race.
Well enough with Don and onto the others. In second place was Kim D who drove the roof off his Porsche 908. That little car really hauled butt. Kim finished in second place with 80.52 laps. Third place was Mr. Holt with 80.31 laps with his 917LH.
For the second I was not happy with the race selection. I guess partly because I did not have a car and because there were only 3 cars available. I was able to borrow a car from Mr. Holt and glad I did. These cars ran better than I thought and now I am looking to buy one. Battles were going on all over the place. First place was Don J, followed by Jeff an Carl. Also, what's wrong with licking the tires?
Well that does it for this weeks report. There's no racing next week and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday. Please see the website for the next race.
Congrats again Big Worm
Thanks,
Paul
