  • Future series for 08-09

    Guys,

Zoom and I were throwing around some ideas tonight over a glass of vino (or two) about what to race in some upcoming series.

Slot.its... all but the 956,962 and Can Am cars (Alfa and Ferrari312). Everyone drive their own car.

SCX F1 IROC with two man teams each week.

    Fly Racing GT cars IROC

Slot.it Alfa and Ferrari 312 IROC

Fly and Racer DP IROC (when the Racers DP's are released)

    Any other thoughts or comments?

BTW, I really enjoyed seeing the LeMans GT cars on the track in the last series. Keep em' close, we'll do that again.

I think all of the above would be fun. The only combination that gives me any heartburn is the two man team races(especially now that Jorge has left us). I'm still racing at a level that is going to guarantee a loss to anyone paired up with me.

Looking forward to the new series whatever it is. I'm in class at UGA until the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, so my appearances will be a bit spotty until then.

May I be so bold as to interrupt and issue another Alabama vs. Georgia enduro challenge sometime during the winter? None of us here have a 4-laner yet so it would make it hard to run a nice enduro in 'Bama, however, I bet it would not take much to run one at Slingshot or Phil's or George's place.

May I also suggest it be a "GRAND AM" enduro in which we run DP's and GT cars. Each team could run DP's for 3 hours and then GT's for 3 hours (or something like that). Besides, I still owe ya'll beer!!!!!

Let us know what you think. I know 4 or 5 of us Alabama Slot Car Stormtroopers will show up.

We have done this with LMP and GT cars and it makes for a really fun time... each team chose which class to run first, so there was a mix of both for the whole race.

Having seen the Flyers and Sideways DPs in Chicago, if you are running non-mag, the Flyers should be no match for the offset Slot.it motor pod equipped Sideways cars...

          Where the BRM's.

You guys got to start thinking big.

Like 1/24th big, get in training for the BRM Challenge.

Next Event "The 12 Hours of Tacoma"

Then the 24 Hours of Daytona with Grassroots Motorsports plus races at Phoenix Raceway and The Race Place.

Come on out and take the Challenge.

          See you at the Races.

BRM International Final late September in Italy looking for a few good Teams to wave the flag.

Don't worry about the BRM's boss. George and I have already thrown that idea around as have Phil and I AND lance/Duane/Slingshot and I. You know we are going to have several BRM events should I get my way . I figure if I buy the beer, the SS LLR is game for any racing .

              Alan,

I love to run some BRM's, but we have too many Scalextric Sport tracks in our club. As you know NINCO works for 1/24 but is a tight fit.
So d@mn it Alan, because you imported these BRM cars, I'm in the planning stages of routing a wood track to accomodate the 1/24 cars! Thanks for costing me more money!

Lawrence to christen GeorgeTown raceway, we will have the Alabama red necks over and run the BRM's on my new track when it is finished. (only people from Georgia can call natives from Alabama red necks, Alabama has Mississippi, Mississippi is out of luck!)

                Alan:

I'm building(Actually, they are building) a 1500sqft barn so I can build a 100'+, 4 lane Carrera track so I can have folks over here to race as well.

I spent the day getting the grade ready and working with the guy doing the footings for the slab. 24cu yards.

And I can say that rednecks from any state will feel at home here at the farm.

Then christening GeorgeTown Raceway will be a pleasure!!! You are ever so correct too George. We got Mississippi to pick on so ya'll can pick on us . Oh yeah, tell Jon I have 2 NEW "Bama shirts to wear. Jon thinks I own 100+/- Alabama Crimson Tide shirts of various styles. the actual number is probably close to 99 .

Think about the Grand Am enduro too. I'll call Phil on Thursday to see if he wouldn't mind hosting. I bet if I give him enough beer, he'll host it.

I'll volunteer my 104' Ninco 4 laner for a race. Since Southern Sloter is about 4 miles from me it won't be too difficult.

SS you better have Doc define "christen" before you let him anywhere near your new track...
