        Hey Dave,

Like Milo said, it's upside-down land. In the mean time: eat my Ortmann dust!. Oh yeah: Ferrari sucks!

Team Porsche leading the top 4, with my good buddy Reckless only 8' behind me after 50 k' (that's 50 kilofeet) of racing. For those that live in the Modern world, that's 15.720 km that Tony has run. I'll have to award the Porsche Challenge prize car back to the guy I bought if from! Heck, the innards of my Martini 936 were bought from Fantasy World. I'll have to apply for my team discount next time! Go TEAM FW!!! It's a good thing Mrs. DV doesn't see my Visa bills or she'd think I was buying.... ...with a name like Fantasy World...

        • But Van, you can't have it both ways; either you live in the past or you live in the present. If you race vintage race cars, you are de facto living in the past. So, inches and feet it is!

When I started serious hobby building back in my high school daze, I used a slide rule! And I converted from once scale to another with ancient (even then) brass proportional dividers.

Now, who the heck thought Fantasy World was a good name for a slot car purveyor?

Probably the same guy who figured that tyre sizes should refer to the width between the sidewalls in millimetres, the sidewall height (including the bead under the rim) should be expressed as a percentage of the width of the tyre, and the diameter should refer to the rim size in inches. Meanwhile we will all probably still be measuring the tread depth in /32" even after we have converted to measuring the pressure in kilopascals ...

You can if you live in Canada. When discussing paper size, styrene tubing, or lumber: Imperial units it is. In all areas of science, commerce, and most importantly roadways we use the metric system - much like most of the rest of the world.

                • It's remarkable just how close the top cars are after fifty thousand feet of racing at five different tracks.
Are the RAA or Shoot Outs this close? I've only got about 55 FEET on Wayne now And we'll be finishing in his territory!

I be gainin' on that JT feller and ol' Smokey be gainin' on me!
Lesson learned: If you don't have a lead sled, have Hudy-trued tires!

Wayne, I think we (well, at least I) have Phil to fear more than Smokie for the next event down under! He is only about 600 feet behind you and he gained about that much in this race. If results for this next event are similar to this one, you will pass me by 267', Phil will pass Smokieo and me !

Here's my rough predictions of the top five after the next round. All numbers in linear feet behind the leader:

                  Wayne -
                  Phil K - 17'
                  JT () - 267'
                  Smokie - 484'
                  TK - 1724'

And that hardly scratches the surface. Height and weight are always in feet, inches, and pounds, except on your drivers license. Vegetables are sold by the pound, but meat is sold by the kilogram.

The Metric Commission was disbanded in the late 80s and things have gone to hell in a hand basket since. Personally, I use imperial measurements most of the time.

I do have Hudy trued tires! Probably not the best motor for a technical circuit (NSR King 30k) in my P car. The car was motored and geared for The Warehouse...

JT, I'm equally amazed at how close the competition is, and the position changes when we have covered such a great distance. There's still a long way to go. It should be interesting.

                      Godspeed, gentlemen!

Personal preference is points since it's easier to make up if one has a bad race...also like to see bonus points for the fast lap of the race

Okay, now where did I put that can lid...

                            • A good question IMHO ...

I know this is a dumb Question but if you add both "P" class and "GT" class combine. Who is the Top Dog overall ?
Tony asked this a little while ago, and I think it was a good question that hasn't really been answered, despite Dennis' great scorekeeping and data production efforts.

Which is to say that, figuring out the individual Prototype or, alternatively, the GT leadership is straightforward; and of course deducing the "overall" leading car(s) presents no problems; they're the "big boys" with the magnets and motors to match their performance.

But trying to extrapolate which race teams are leading (or fading fast) is a bit of a conundrum. I'm referring here to the entrants who submitted cars in both Prototype & GT classes of course.

Has anybody done any number crunching on this? Cause I'll bet there are a number of interested folks out there who would like to know if the combined distance covered by their entry combination has earned them any bragging rights ...

                                Read 'em and weep:

Team Fantasy World does it again. Two Canuck teams in hot pursuit though. YMMV by the end of the next race. I know mine will. Looks like the teams will break the 100 kilofoot barier!
