  • I've just unpacked all the cars from their packaging, and whilst doing so managed to guess exactly which cars belonged to Phil Kalbfell - one was in a box, so there was no problem with that one, the other though, it was just a matter of guessing the lead sled!!!

Some of these cars are carrying a fair amount of weight, which should be interesting to see how it affects the cars going around The Eggdome with its hilly sections. At least they should stay in the slot over the hump of sorts that is near the start line.

It could be cause for some undoing on the downhill section towards the last corner, however we'll have to see when they are run.

Two cars did not seem to survive the trip unscathed unfortunately, however the damage is minor and is only related to the bodywork. I'm not entirely up to date on how they were when they left, but I am guessing the box could have taken a couple of bumps along the way to rainy old Brisbane.

Phil, your drivers head is in the box the car came in, Dennis, your windscreen is (from the picture linked below) sitting on top of your car.

How would you guys like me to repair the damaged bits? Phil, yours looks easy enough to be fixed up with a spot of superglue or plastic glue, just where the head has separated.

Dennis, I've got zero idea what to do with yours, please provide some instruction as to how you would like this repaired.

Other than those two cars, everything else appears to have come through fine, and I quite look forward to driving these in the near future.

Cyph, if you are just dying to look inside WCR's Porsche or Smokeio's Capri, a dremel would work...

Cyph, if you can manage it, just glue it back into position with some clear glue of sorts. I used watch crystal glue originally, but it was obviously not good enough. Perhaps some clear epoxy?

Otherwise, just run it without the screen, as long as the Organizers are OK with that. I will re-attach it when I finally get it back.

As a competitor, I would like to complain about it. The only acceptable repair would be to use some sort of dark color glue and a lot of it. The glue should impede the drivers view of the track and dribble out onto the sides.

That's what my cars look like?

          • Good idea, Mike, Dennis' cars are a little too pretty, which wouldn't be so annoying if they weren't fast too!?

Yeah, it's a good thing his cars aren't fast.

That's only 'cos I was asking about your so-called GT car for the VRAA!

And that Cobra is hardly what anyone would call competitive so far......... who knows, perhaps the Aussie guys can drive real cars instead of those stuck-to-the-track things that Smokeio enters

Clear glue of sorts... Hrm.... Superglue is clear, right?

Nah, I'll try and find something that won't craze the plastic on the windshield or anything, yet have a decent hold on the car.

And cure it in an Easy-Bake oven, right?

Fortunately for my Cobra, it is in the hands of a fellow colonial who understands the aesthetic principles involved here.........(and could probably spell aesthetic himself too)

                          • Phil - like most Italian drivers, they are all heart, no brains!!! *snicker*

I'm awaiting a date from the track host, spoke to him about it on Saturday, we unfortunately have to fit it all around the regular Q32 season. One of these weekends in July should see it run though, possibly the 21st.
